Indulge yourself in a truly special vacation to Frankfort in this rustic sanctuary on the emerald blue waters of Lake Michigan. The expansive wraparound deck is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee or entertain guests in the evening while watching the sunset. The wood finishings make this home feel like a cabin in the woods, yet the modern amenities and close proximity to town give you all of the comforts of home. Make anything from a midnight snack to a complex dinner in the fully equipped kitchen complete with a breakfast bar. The main level of the home offers two bedrooms, the master bedroom with a queen bed and a second bedroom with two twins. The other two bedrooms are located upstairs offering a double bed and a queen bed. The wood-burning fireplace is perfect for cooler nights, so cozy up and crack open your favorite novel at night to wind down.

What's nearby:
Though you won't want to leave this paradise, head down to the water and take a dip or lounge on the sand for a day of tanning. The Point Betsie Lighthouse is also nearby offering museum exhibits and a unique view of the lake. For a quick hike in the summer or a cross country ski trail in the winter, head over to Old Indian Trail and make your way to the dunes. For a day of skiing, Crystal Mountain is a great place for all experience levels and is only a 30-minute drive east.

The property is charming but definitely dated! It has that lovely rustic cabin feel. There are beach views, but no access without driving to the public beach or to nearby parks. Beautiful property!

Loved the views from almost every room and the deck was wonderful. Dated interior but we don’t care it was clean and comfortable and the price is right especially for the beautiful neighborhood, views and proximity to a lot fun things to do. Want to book for next fall!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cozy home overlooking Lake Michigan. As others have noted, the view from the deck is stunning and it's just a short drive to the secluded private beach below. The clear waters of Crystal Lake are also just a few minutes away, along with the cute hamlet of Frankfort, Sleeping Bear Dunes, the Platte River, and a host of other scenic locations that offer a full menu of summertime fun and relaxation. Although somewhat dated on the interior, the house was comfortable and everything was in working order. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Spacious yet cozy
The high ceilings, wraparound deck, and panoramic lake views breathe so much life into this older home. We had both sunny days and overcast ones; no matter the weather, it was idyllic to be out on the huge deck looking out at the water, the stars, or the wildlife. Although we spent most of our visit over on Crystal Lake, everyone enjoyed morning walks around the golf course grounds. Much of the decor and appliances are dated, but they're still functional. We easily cooked a full dinner in the kitchen. That said, the newer updates are definitely appreciated: the updated bedroom linens are fresh and cheerful, the showerheads are great, and the new living room couch was very comfortable. We would politely suggest that, if updates continue, new mattresses would make a big difference. The current ones are quite old and firm (hence why someone slept on the couch).

Clean, comfy beds. Good space all around. A couple inaccuracies in the listing. When they say “wood provided” for the fireplace they mean 3 logs. They also said beach access was 1/4 mile away, it’s 1.5 miles away.

Delightful house
Spectacular views of Lake Michigan and Sleeping Bear Dunes. House has a very cabin like feel with large rooms. View from the upstairs bedroom is breathtaking. Although the home is older it has every modern convenience you could need. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Watch for the eagles. They came by several times each day. Close enough to Frankfort and many other small towns.

Sensational sunsets in a hidden gem
This was a perfect base for our family. After spending the day at one of the numerous beaches nearby, we’d head back in the early evening, make dinner, watch the sunset, play some games, and basically spend what they used to call “quality time”. Just what we needed (and wanted).

Beautiful home, beautiful views
This was exactly what I was hoping for when I booked this vacation. The views were unbelievable and the house was very nice. There were two things I was disappointed with and they both were concerning the property management company. I did receive text messages and overall was very easy; however I believe it was an automated system. The listing said there was private (to the club) beach access. I eventually found it, but the bot kept telling me the closest beach I could access was the Frankfort public beach (which is an awesome beach, but at least a 10 minute drive). The other disappointment was that despite the tank gauge reading the tank was over half full, there was zero propane for the grill. I didn't discover this until I was trying to cook on it and had family waiting on dinner. The property/house itself and the amazing sunsets (and surprisingly sun rises) definitely overshadowed these minor disappointments. Great house, great views, great family vacation! Would not hesitate to book here again!

Beautiful views!
This property is in the perfect location with views of the woods, the lake, and the dunes! We loved the drive in and out of the neighborhood with fall colors visible over the rolling, manicured hills of the golf course. We went to Traverse City and Frankfort and came home to a cozy cabin experience. We spent family time around the fire (stocked with duraflame logs for our convenience), and crafted + played table top games in the cozy dining area. Over the lake we saw a full double rainbow in the morning, and a clear picture of Ursa Major at night. We drank coffee and cozied up together - and the one time that we needed help from vacasa they were accommodating and responsive. We would absolutely return in the future and recommend to family and friends.

Amazing view, wooded/cabin feel.
This location is worth it for the location and beautiful views! My daughters and I had a great experience staying here. The home definitely has that rustic feel. If you like wood interiors, scents of a fireplace, and that cabin feel; please look into this rental! The view is gorgeous and it's tucked away in the woods facing the lake. I would definitely book this again. The location is perfect if you want to tour the dunes, crystal lake, and downtown Frankfort. It's literally a couple of minutes from the Betsie lighthouse! :)

Beautiful View with lots of room for all
This older home nestled in the Crystal Downs community was perfect for our outing. The deck overlooking Lake Michigan was awesome to enjoy early morning coffee or evening cocktails. The fireplace was a nice feature to utilize on a couple of the chillier nights. Ample kitchen and dining space. Few minor issues, such as the lightbulbs in the main floor bathroom went out while we were there and so we had to take some from the table lamps. Maybe a good idea to check those or leave a spare one somewhere for just such instances. Also, when we arrived, one of the dining table chairs was very broken (the back was completely off one side and many spindles were unattached). We set this chair off to the side, but it may be a good idea to remove it and replace it. Brought our own pillows and were glad we did as the ones provided were really flat. Overall this was a great home with a great view and plenty of provided amenities to make our week's stay AWESOME!!

A Relaxing Getaway with a Spectacular View
Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our getaway to the Frankfort/Sleeping Bear area this summer and this cottage proved to be a great central location from which to start all of our excursions as well a welcome place to return to and relax afterwards. The deck provided spectacular views as we enjoyed watching storms roll in across the lake, evening sunsets, and amazing displays of the stars (including a meteor shower) at night. Rustic is an apt descriptor as the furnishings have seen years of use but everything was clean and comfortable and, for us, this is what a Lake Michigan family cottage should look and feel like. Be prepared to drive if venturing out beyond the deck as there is no direct path to the lake. Our attempts to communicate via the VRBO website/app were not returned (we did not try the phone number) but we left a note identifying a few issues that appears to have reached the management group based on a reply to another review.

Beautiful view
The location of this property worked so well for us. We were able to see a lot each day and still got back for dinner each evening. 4 bedrooms and plenty of space in living area for everyone. The deck looking over the lake was so nice to sit and watch boats. A couple of small issues we had; we had a hard time getting our food hot in oven, even set at 400 degrees, and on windy days sometimes the ashy smell from the fire place was bad. But overall nice place and I would definitely stay again.

Great property. Great view.
Would stay again! Great spot. A bit rustic but that is what we were looking for. We spent all of our time on the deck taking in the view of the dunes and sunsets. Only note is the house is fully stocked with essentials (cooking supplies, utensils, spices, grill, games) and this was not listed.
