"Wow! Whalesback Cottage was the Nova Scotia oceanside escape that we were looking for. Our own private space – no traffic … no crowds … and the only sounds were the waves hitting the rocks. We spent countless pleasant hours watching the tides change the view … scanned the ocean with binoculars looking for the whales folks see occasionally. "Our group of four just stayed for a week in August and had an incredible time at this property! We found everything to be true to the listing if not better, and the stunning views from multiple directions made our stay even more memorable. We were able to explore a great deal of the surrounding areas thanks to the central location, with short hops to nearby Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, Peggy's Cove, Chester, and of course Halifax and other great destinations. "We loved the location of this house. Beautiful lake and view. Lots of extras in the house like shampoo, conditioner, body soap, lots of dishes, utensils, laundry soap, lots of towels etc. Only disappointment was we were all looking forward to the hot tub, it was the main selling point of our choosing this house, and it was out of order😩.We talked to the host, very nice man, very helpful, was trying to get it to work, but it didn’t happen! "

"Great house. Some of the furniture needs changing like the dining room chairs that are very wobbly.3 bedrooms in basement are only doubles so like my son and his wife that are bigger people they had to sleep separately. All in all there was a great view and it was worth the prixe."
