"This property was charming and the staff were all so friendly and attentive! Room was spacious and I do love how the French separate the toilet from the bedroom and shower room! I just wish the tv had more English channels but we did not come there to watch TV anyway! And the hotel was walking distance to small shops and other restaurants. I would definitely stay here again! "I cannot speak highly enough of this beautiful B&B! The building is stunning, set in a wonderfully peaceful location with original features enhanced by both old and new furniture. The decor is charming and tasteful. Aurélie provides a simple yet very tasty breakfast every morning and nothing is too much trouble! All jams are homemade which can be bought no site. "It's amazing how only two people (husband and wife - they run this place) can make you feel welcome and like you come to the house of loving friends or relatives! They greet us with the smile, showed to our rooms and offered us dinner even it was 10 pm. When was last time you had such a service!?? Can't not to mention the dinner that was cooked by husband - simply amazing! This place shows you all the best you want in hospitality. Highly recommended, we’ll be back! "

Historic country houses in Dordogne

"The property offers two lovely, restored country houses, built before the time of Napoleon out of local limestone, outside of Rouffignac. The area is rolling terrain with agricultural land punctuated by forests. Sarlat is an easy drive away through spectacular, cliff-lined valleys. Lascaux also nearby. We stayed in both houses, one larger with a pretty terrace and swimming pool; one smaller also with terrace and pool. Both have modern kitchens and bathroom facilities. The most important thing to mention is the abundant courtesy and responsiveness of the hosts, who promptly addressed our every need. A note for anyone arriving on the A89 expressway from Clermont-Ferrand: probably best to ignore your GPS and drive almost to Périgueux, exiting at Boulazac and taking the D710 highway south. Your GPS may recommend leaving the A89 earlier and threading your way to Rouffignac on the D6089 via Thenon. We found that trickier and more time consuming."

A hill top idyll

"We had a fabulous week, we were met by the lovely Florence when we arrived who showed us around and explained the property. The photographs online do not really do it justice and it exceeded our expectations.The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and all bathrooms had a hairdryer. The separate laundry room with an additional refrigerator was a bonus. The beds were comfortable with extra pillows if needed. The beautiful garden was huge and well maintained with stunning views over the valley. We all made good use of the pool and sun beds although the only feedback we would give was that the few parasols there weren’t really enough for good shade poolside and do not work fully. All in all we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the house and exploring the surrounding area."

"Gite was compact and comfortable, just what we needed for a 2 week stay. The hosts Karen and Steve met us when we arrived, were really friendly and gave suggestions of where to visit. The location was perfect, peaceful, but easy enough with a car to reach other places to visit. We will definitely return!"
