We were originally put in a room that looked like a motel 6 right in the parking lot on the first floor by the driveway with cars coming in and out. It looked unsafe and dumpy. I went back and asked for a room in the main hotel tower. The room was nicer and I felt safer but the water in the bathroom in the shower was yellow. It was OK once we changed rooms. I wouldn’t stay there again though.

Lovely and close to the beach, easy walk into Fort Lauderdale to restaurants, etc... Nearby street vendors have an excellent array of dishes and the atmosphere on Saturday night was like a party. The resort employees are friendly and welcoming. And that DoubleTree welcome cookie is delish! The fittings in the room we had in the Marina building were a little tired (ie the bathtub should probably be replaced) but the beds were comfy and the room was clean. Definitely would stay here again.

Nothing "wrong" with the property, but it was a little dated. My main complaint is that it was very expensive given the quality of room. I travel quite a bit and would normally pay at most $200 for a room like this. That said, we were going on a cruise and the location was very convenient. So while the convenience may justify the higher price, I'm not sure that i would do it again.
