Enjoyed our stay!
This is a great cozy house tucked in the mountains. Very clean and comfortable. We had a great stay and enjoyed the Mountain View’s and the horses on the property. Would definitely stay here again!

A vacation from vacation
We loved our stay at Judy’s line camp! It was perfect after a four day stay in Big Bend to have a nice place to recoup from the schedule of vacay! We chilled and enjoyed watching the horses and cows and oh my…the view from the back porch was spectacular. Very peaceful!

We were pleasantly surprised how beautiful this home was …… line shack wasn’t new term for us . But it was amazing . So glad we got to stay there . Beautiful bathrooms and great places to watch the sun rise and set .

Great place to stay when visiting the McDonald Observatory, Davis Mountain State Park, Fort Davis and the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center. Nice kitchen for meal prep, wonderful front porch and great back patio for star gazing.

Peace and quiet with amazing views
What a fantastic stay! The property is perfect and we enjoyed all the thoughtful little extras. We visited Fort Davis to be close to Balmorhea springs and the McDonald Observatory, and this location was perfect. Quiet, peaceful, with incredible West Texas landscapes.

We loved this charming house! We found everything we needed during our stay. The patio was lovely to sit outside and enjoy the view, horses and cattle. Stargazing does not disappoint out here. Amazing dark skies! This is a great location and we enjoyed all the cozy aspects to this home. Super fast communication with the owner. Definitely would stay here again.

Very Memorable
We simply loved our stay at Judy’s Line Shack. The views of the West TX landscape, which we so love, were amazing. The peacefully grazing horses made it even more wonderful. The home is delightfully decorated, and we had everything we need. We have been to Ft. Davis many times over the years, and we are so happy to have found Judy’s Line Shack for our future visits! Great home with beautiful views
Stayed at the property for a weekend. Arrived Friday evening and the sunset is amazing. We spent most of our time here on the back deck. Beautiful views of the mountains during the day and the stars at night. Close to town to grab groceries or dinner. We will remember this house for our next trip to Fort Davis.

House is beautiful. Furnished beautifully. Location is very quiet and peaceful. If there is a negative the internet runs at about 5mbps. No gaming available. Everything else was wonderful!

Nice home well maintained. The best part is you are out in the boonies where when it gets dark the night sky just illuminates with all the stars. I’m brought my telescope and the location having no light pollution you could really see a lot of astronomical objects!

Beauty and Serenity
We rented Judy's Line Shack in Ft. Davis, Texas as a key part of our 40th wedding anniversary and loved it! The home is delightful with big windows, gorgeous mountain views and a big screened porch to enjoy the breeze. The Davis Mountains, McDonald Observatory and Madeira Canyon have long been favorites ours offering awesome star gazing. It was wonderful to have such a nice home as our base. We highly recommend it! Last minute trip to Ft. Davis area and the McDonald Observatory before my son went back to college. Found this super cute house, and was delighted to find it had all the comforts (and more) of home. Jennifer thought of everything when it came to furnishing the house. Very comfortable beds, every necessity needed in the kitchen, and the screened front porch was perfect for relaxing. The sweet mare and her colt were definitely an added bonus. Perfect location for visiting the McDonald Observatory, the Ft Davis Historic Site, and the Ft Davis State Park. Only about 20 minutes from Marfa where we found, The Rock Shop. We would definitely stay here again should we decide to visit this area again.

Judy's Line Shack
Beautiful views from the back porch. Comfortable unit. It was really nice to find things like mustard and jam in the fridge and a good supply of things like salt, pepper, and coffee filters. The only hiccup was the propane in the grill was almost empty and when I texted the owner about getting some more, there was no reply. So we had to broil our chicken instead of grilling it. No big deal. We will be back for sure.
