If you are looking for a unique and rustic cabin to relax and recharge in a beautiful mountain setting, you've found it! Private, yet convenient to all the High Country has to offer. Come and experience the charm of a 'real' pioneer log cabin. Enjoy the simple pleasure of nature's beauty and early Americana bundled into one. Take a deep breath, now...exhale!

Sleepy Creek is made from the logs of two authentic 1800's log cabins (from Kentucky and West Virginia) that were re-assembled and joined to make a very unique and comfortable vacation get away. This cabin is constructed of beautiful antique hand hewn poplar and oak logs, wonderful stonework, and metal roof. It is located on over 4 acres of wooded land with a beautiful stream running past the cabin through the entire acreage.

The interior features large rooms with (2) bedrooms and (2) bathrooms. The master is located on main floor (queen) and has a small private bathroom. Black walnut plank flooring, antique knotty pine paneling and soap stone block fireplace blend with newer components to set the stage for this cozy retreat. The second bedroom encompasses the entire upstairs (one double and two single beds) with vaulted ceiling and ceiling fans.

The rustic farm house style kitchen is fully equipped, but maintains it's country charm with period pieces, including an authentic turn of the century Hoosier Cabinet. There is also a separate laundry room. A 2nd bathroom is located downstairs. But the best part is the covered front porch. Relax to the view of the very noisy creek, rain on porch roof, and the many hummingbirds that frequent the cabin in the summer. Don't forget to enjoy a picnic or nap by the creek - benches, picnic table and hammock provided. A new fire pit for chilly evening outside enjoyment. Sleepy Creek provides the perfect setting for your relaxation, comfort and enjoyment.

I'M SORRY, WE DO NOT OFFER CABIN FOR WEDDINGS, SPECIAL EVENTS, OR MONTHLY RENTALS.

PLEASE NOTE PET POLICY/RESTRICTIONS. (1) adult dog under 40lb. w/non-refundable pet fee. INQUIRE WITH QUESTIONS.

Sleepy Creek can accommodate a max. party of (4) people or less and is conveniently located to Boone, Blowing Rock, Todd/New River, W. Jefferson and access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is just over our ridge.

DISCLOSURE: Due to Cabin’s private location, Premises are equipped with (1) Non-audio Exterior Driveway Security Camera.

Charming Cabin; Fabulous Stay
A family of four + 1 mountain-loving dog had a great time at Sleepy Creek. We spent four nights in the cabin over the Thanksgiving holiday. The cabin is exquisitely maintained. It is warm and inviting and easy to get to. My family has a tradition of going to the mountains every Thanksgiving and this has been our favorite location by far.

Anniversary Trip/Sleepy Creek Log Cabin
What a beautiful log cabin and setting! We loved it from the moment we saw it through the trees as we drove in, and we were not disappointed when we walked in the door. We loved the rustic, cozy feeling throughout the house and enjoyed sitting on the front porch overlooking the stream. The house was immaculate, well maintained, and well stocked. Highly recommend!

Cabin by the Creek
From the moment we arrived at this charming cabin nestled in the woods, we knew we were in for a treat. The cozy ambiance, coupled with the rustic yet modern interior, immediately set the tone for a perfect getaway. The attention to detail was impeccable, from the plush furnishings to the well-equipped kitchen, ensuring that every comfort was met. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the breathtaking views from the cabin's spacious deck. Waking up to the tranquil sounds of nature and enjoying our morning coffee while overlooking the majestic creek was a truly unforgettable experience. Whether we were lounging by the fireplace or fishing in the creek (yes we caught a trout), every moment spent at this cabin felt like a rejuvenating escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Furthermore, the host's hospitality exceeded our expectations. Kathe’s prompt communication and helpful recommendations added an extra layer of warmth to our stay. It's evident that she takes great pride in ensuring her guests have a memorable experience. In conclusion, this cabin on VRBO exceeded all our expectations and provided the perfect setting for a peaceful retreat. We can't wait to return and create more cherished memories in this idyllic sanctuary.

The best place to reset and spend time with family
We loved our stay. The home was impeccably clean. The kitchen was stocked with everything you may need. It was still decorated for Christmas and absolutely beautiful. It was perfect to relax and spend time with our small kids. We were a quick drive into Boone or other towns around which had plenty to do and see when we wanted to get out and about. Kathe was super responsive and helpful. The guests before us broke her oven and she called us a day before check in to provide very reasonable options and explain that she was doing her absolute most to get it repaired before our arrival but give us the final option on what to do. She walked us through absolutely everything we could need to know upon our arrival via phone call and it helped us to settle in that much easier. If you are considering, just book it.

Great Cabin and Location!
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. Everthing was super clean and tidy. All the amenities you could want in a stay away from home. Cabin is beautifully decorated and you feel so at home here. The property is so peaceful, the listing does not do it justice. You need to visit to experience the peace and tranquilty of this little piece of the mountains. We hiked everyday on a different trail in the surrounding parks and it was so nice to have this wonderful cabin with the creek to come home to. We had happy hr every evening down by the creek and will definately return again next year to discover more. Thank you Kathe for lending your cozy cabin for the week.

Sleepy Creek Cabin was the perfect home away from home. We were greeted by beautiful landscaping and a babbling creek. The cabin showed the owners had anticipated all our needs and desires. Best vacation in a long time
This house is wonderful. The property is just perfect. There’s a creek that runs in-front of the home and it provides a beautiful sound the moment you open the front door. This house is the perfect mix of rustic and comfort. Yes, you can connect to technology but our family likes to disconnect. Our dog played in the creek, we napped on the hammock and grilled out at night. The inside of this house is adorable. The decor is so homey and unique. We stayed in July and it’s hard to remember how cool the mountain air is, we barely needed the window AC units. I cooked a lot here too I was impressed with the cooking supplies- it was all there. Yes, this is a bit off the beaten path and that’s exactly what we were looking for. Not a bad drive to West Jefferson and Boone at all. We look forward to coming back in the winter. We loved it here.

Heaven on earth
This is our 6th year of vacationing at Sleepy Creek cabin. The cabin is well equipped, clean, and in a beautiful location; secluded, in the midst of trees, beside a stream, very quiet. Cool on the summertime. We were there the second week in July and temp didn’t reach 80. You can do nothing, or it’s close to several small towns, hiking, canoeing and other activities. Cabin owner very friendly and easy to communicate with.
