"Spring Lodge" was recently renovated in a modern farmhouse style, and inspired by the colors and feel of the US National Parks. With nature and wildlife a focal point in the home, and trees, flowers, and grapevines above the creek at the bottom of the property, you can choose to walk the area - or enjoy them via your rocking chair on the 60 foot porch that is remIniscent of the lodges out West. Our location is convenient to exploring all areas of the High Country, providing great access to restaurants, the university, outdoor activities, etc. while providing a location that is "away from it all. Enjoy a sophisticated resort-type retreat vacation.

Vegetables in back of the house, and fruit trees on the property, available in season, may be available for picking upon request. Creek at bottom of hill can be accessed. Blue Ridge Parkway is approximately 1 mile via Phillips Gap access. New River for canoeing/kayaking is down 1 mile on Pine Swamp, then Conley Cheek Road. Both Boone and West Jefferson are about 20 minutes away for dining and entertainment; skiing also (in season) is further past Boone.

This house was perfect for my families trip to my nieces wedding. House had plenty of room and relaxing. The rocking chairs on front porch was a great start to our day, relaxing and enjoying the view.

What a special place!
We really enjoyed our short stay in this beautiful spot. We were with good friends, and we remarked over and over about what a special, comfortable place this was. Our hosts were very attentive, and we were so sad our trip was cut short by us leaving quite early the last morning, because we missed their offered homemade chocolate croissants ❤️ Do yourself a favor, and book this incredible Spring Lodge.

This home was everything advertised and more! I have used VRBO numerous times, and this was by far the nicest home I have ever stayed in! Fully stocked from kitchen to baths to bedrooms. Comfortable in every sense. And communication with the owner was effortless. If you are looking for a comfy home in the mountains, you need to look no further!

Beautiful home and location. More space than the pictures do justice. A bit off the beaten path, while also close to great towns like Boone and West Jefferson. Already thinking about coming back in the summer to see the gardens in full bloom.

I cannot say enough about this home! If you’re looking for an off the beaten path, diamond in the rough, mountain home this is definitely your place! The home is very spacious and welcoming, and the surroundings are breathtaking! I’d highly recommend!!

Good for family trip
We stayed here to attend a wedding at the nearby (10-15min) Sky Retreat. The location worked great for us and we enjoyed exploring the creek nearby. The owners provided lots of information like driving directions, and area attractions/food. We didn't have a ton of spare time due to wedding commitments, but I think it would be a good balance of relaxation and things to do for all ages. You'll need to be (or get!) comfortable driving on narrow, winding mountain roads. The home was equipped with all kitchen amenities we could have needed, towels for each guest, wifi and fire tv. Note as the listing states, you do need to dispose of your own trash (not sure if it was just because we were 3+ nights, or if everyone must). The drop-off sites were all 15-20 minutes away, and we found the one we went to was closed on Sunday. Just something to be aware of.

The place was beautiful but more difficult to get to than expected. But, I live in Sw Florida where everything is flat so, anything beyond that seemed extreme. Would recommend some stepping stones to get to the front entry where the code box is. There had been a lot of rain so the path was quite soggy. Overall, we had a nice stay.

My husband and I loved the Spring Lodge! Very clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, relaxing front porch - what more could you ask for! Great Holiday Stay!
We enjoyed our Christmas getaway in this lovely home! I’m a cook and a baker and they definitely had just about everything I needed to make all of my holiday meals and baked treats. I appreciated the Christmas greeting call from the owners and all of the prompt responses to our questions. The house was clean, well appointed and a very joyful space to spend time in. We would definitely stay again!

Everything you want in a weekend retreat

Quiet little slice of heaven!
Being in a sort of little cul-de-sac with the owners house just down the drive, we had much needed peace and quiet. The setting is lovely, the furnishings were superb, we wanted for nothing. I really can’t imagine a better situation. Richard and Pat were also fabulous hosts. Nearby and available if we needed them. Would definitely stay here again next time I am in the area.

Lovely & Quiet Retreat!
We chose Spring Lodge for a last minute vacation with 3 of our children. The host was extraordinarily accommodating, highly communicative and very helpful. The property was just lovely! Homey, comfortable and welcoming. We settled in quickly and felt at home the entire visit. The front porch was our favorite morning spot and the kitchen/living/dining was a wonderful gathering space. The beds were comfy and we slept wonderfully! The giant binder with TONS of local guidebooks and ideas was an absolute treasure for NC Mountain newbies. We were so thankful to have guidance to help us enjoy our stay. We loved the mountains and we will be back! Finally, the amazing croissants Pat baked on our last day were a treat and we are blessed and thankful by the hospitality we were shown on our entire stay! Thanks, Rich & Pat!
