"If you feel you would like to travel back in time to stay in a medieval fortified hilltop village, then this 15th century property is ideal for a couple with a dog or small child. It has been sensitively renovated yet has the modern conveniences necessary for life today. Once the day trippers have gone home, there is perfect peace and silence in Flavigny, as cars have to be left outside the city walls. There is a rich cultural heritage in Burgundy, as well as traditional cuisine to delight the palate. Madame Balthazar was extremely helpful and courteous in explaining everything we needed to know about planning our visit, even organising the vet appointment for our dog."

"Five 60ish cycling fans visiting for the Tour De France. Excellent property in a beautiful area especially if you are interested in cycling / hiking. Only down side is the opening days and times of local restaurants which caught us out a bit but the house is very well equipped and as we are all keen cooks then this wasn't a problem for us but may be for some. Not that much to do for kids. All in all an excellent trip and I would highly recommend the property for a similar group of people."

"The interior of the apartment is as described and shown in photos. However, for our stay the pool was not open, the tennis court over grown, and the grass up to knee height. This had the effect of reducing the usable area of the 2.8 hectare property to the driveway and the apartment which was very disappointing to our group and difficult with small children. Most critically, there is no wifi and the property is in an area with no phone signal. The owner is very pleasant and we were able to enjoy our stay fine enough but I would say this is priced for the description not the reality."

"We wanted for nothing in this property, everything was provided. It was in a huge, secluded garden, but the property was separate, and a long way from the main house, so we didn't feel enclosed in any way. We sat/ate outside a lot of the time, and felt that we were a long way from the main house. Samur-en-Auxois was everything we thought it was, and François Meunieur was extremely helpful. 10/10!"

"Le Crebillon is an absolutely gorgeous house! Decorated with style and impeccable taste, it allows a large group (we were seven adults) to gather in the living and dining spaces while the very comfortable rooms are quiet. The kitchen is fitted with modern appliances and everything a foody needs! The courtyard is beautiful and the upper level garden is a great place to relax. Our hosts were attentive and generous with their time, always there to help or advise. Flavigny is like a picture postcard - something to admire around every corner. If you're thinking about staying here, DO NOT HESITATE - it's wonderful!"
