We were looking for a place with cheaper prices and with great views. We wasn’t expecting to see it from our cabin. We were expecting to see that view but from the drive in or walking down the road. We felt like we were at a 5 star cabin resort. With some of things in the cabin.

Helpful host
Even though the hosts were out of town, they had someone there to let me in when I foolishly locked myself out within 30 minutes. Well stocked kitchen, plenty of treats. Exceeded all expectations. Very reasonably priced for an expensive area, just remember that it is remote, 40 minutes to Red Lodge.

Great experiance
The views are outstanding and you can drive right up to the base of all the mountains and hike everywhere. Lots of great streams to fish and plenty of fish. Day trip to the Lamar Valley in the Yellowstone was spectacular, lots of wildlife to see. Great place for a week or longer. The hosts were very accommodating too.

Tiny Gem!
My hubby and I loved our stay in this cozy cabin. It's small, but it's got everything you need - and the views are spectacular! We spent every available minute relaxing on the front porch, watching the light change over the valley and listening to the Meadowlarks. Amazing!!

We loved our stay in the Deer Cabin. The views of the Beartooth Mountains were incredible and the cabin was very clean and cozy. It was a great way to experience Montana for the first time. We could see so many stars at night and the sunsets were beautiful.

Tiny cabin - GORGEOUS location
The cabin was smaller than expected and a bit crowded for the two of us and our 50 pound dog. Unless you're planning to spend a lot of time inside you should be fine. The porch was amazing - was up at 6 for coffee and a reading while listening to all the farm and wildlife.

Horrible experience!!
We had reservations here in June 2022 but due to the flood that occurred in Yellowstone, we were not allowed in Yellowstone Park so therefore we had to cancel our reservations at Red Lodge (Fishtail). After contacting owners and telling them that we were not able to make our reservation in 4 days since all roads were closed, we would like a refund. They refused to do that, so we had to contact our credit card company to receive a refund. We did end up getting a full refund from credit card company but just be aware if you make reservations, you better make sure you don't have to cancel your reservations for any reason. I could understand if we just changed our mind and didn't want to go but for an unforeseen reason that was out of our control and then declined a refund was not very businesslike on the owners part.

Great Views
Enjoyed our stay at the Cabin. Great views from the porch and dear came out each night. Cabin had everything you needed to cook meals and relax. It is small with limited seating but we used as a base to explore and for the two of us it was fine. Great interaction with host making sure we had everything we needed. Would recommend. As a side note the drive in on Highway 78 from Red Lodge is just a great stretch of road and quite beautiful.

Small cabin-BIG BEAUTIFUL view
Cabin was as described. Very small but worked out just fine for my husband and me. If we weren’t out on the porch soaking in the gorgeous scenery we were out exploring. Bed was comfy and the kitchen had enough essential utensils, pans etc… to fix a meal. The gas grill was out of propane so that messed up our dinner plans one night. I’m not sure if that was an oversight or a fire precaution (if it was we didn’t see a note regarding that). That was a small issue and certainly would not stop me from recommending this place or preventing me from staying there again. Location is great. Can get to a lot of places with a short drive, . I contacted the host a few days before we were to arrive to check in to see what the process was but did not get an answer. In the next couple of days I sent a couple of more emails that never got a response either. On the check in day we went ahead and drove up there. Fortunately we did find the cabin unlocked and ready with a note supplying the key, Wi-Fi info etc….

Deer Cabin
The Deer cabin is a great place to stay. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The view is beautiful. We had everything we needed. We had the same experience as another recent guest with not knowing that the cabin would be open and ready. I had to call to verify. I like to know how to get in before hand especially in a remote location as I am never sure about cell service. Communication could have been better. Aside from that, the cabin is great.
