Waterfront Cottage in Beautiful Hoopers Island

Enjoy the quiet and serenity of Hoopers Island from our cozy waterfront cottage. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life in this little town.
Enjoy the sunrise relaxing on the back porch; sip your morning coffee or pick some local crabs on the back porch. Take a short walk down to the bridge to explore the small beaches and collect shells and sea glass!

Have dinner around the fire pit located by the water - bring your camp chairs for extra seating. We have added a new extended dock at the end of the pier for ease of relaxing, swimming, floating, kayaking, fishing, crabbing etc.!

Our home is equipped with Smart TVs, Sonos Speakers, and FiberOptic Hi Speed Internet. There is an outdoor propane grill provided for your use.

Fishing and crabbing are allowed off of the pier. Hoopers Island General Store can help supply a temporary license, your tackle needs, or bring your own! Make sure you bring your fishing rod! We do have a few crab pots that are available for use tied off along the pier.

Please note Hoopers Island is a very remote location and does not have a supermarket on the island. The General Store has basic needs, but it is advised to stop on your way down to shop for food and drinks! Stop in Cambridge (30 mins from the property) on your way in for groceries. Cambridge is home of some great restaurants downtown and on the waterfront!

One of the most relaxing vacations ever! The cottage was so cute and clean. The cupboards were stocked with everything you could think of. The view of the bay was so gorgeous and the pier was so perfect for fishing and crabbing. We loved that we could bring our dog with us. We will definitely vacation here again!

The cottage was cute and clean! The sunrise from the bed was breath taking. We enjoyed waking up in the morning to check the crab pots out on the dock. Loved that we could tie our boat up on the dock. If you are looking for a disconnect from the busy life this is the place to be We will be back for sure

Great spot
Great spot from which to explore Dorchester County and the eastern shore. Cabin was comfortable and the view of the bay from the dock was incredible. Would stay again!

Great Place
This is a great place to stay on the Eastern Shore. Loved the dock, fire pit, and bird watching. Our dog loved the yard as well and he made a friend with the neighbors dog on the other side of the fence. Very clean and comfortable cottage with everything we needed to enjoy our stay in the area. Liked it so much we have already booked another stay.

We enjoyed everything about it. Adorable cottage, beautiful sunrises, fishing off the dock and a hike at Blackwater wildlife refuge. We love to cook and the kitchen was VERY well stocked.

Enchanting Cottage!
My husband and I loved our stay at this cottage on Hoopers Island! The cottage was so cute, clean, and comfortable with everything you need to complete our stay. Location was perfect, right between the Honga River and Chesapeake Bay. So peaceful, and wonderful hiking and bird watching nearby. I can't wait to go back!

Our stay on Hooper’s Island
House was very cozy. Had all the amenities we needed! Right out the back door was an amazing view of the water and beautiful sunrise every morning. Very quiet. We loved it here and plan on coming back. Step outside the front door with your bike and take a ride along the breathtaking Cheasapeake.

This little house was perfect for the 2 of us. So many thoughtful touches. Bottled water and ice on hand. First aid kit. Wi-Fi. Electric fireplace for ambience and actual heat. AC/ heat in each room that could be controlled separately. Comfy beds and living room furniture. Hot shower with great water pressure. Beautiful view- right on the water. Super quiet. Within 30 minutes to a hour of everything we wanted to see and do. Would love to stay there again.

I only gave 4 stars for accuracy due to the limitations of bikes and kayaks. Bikes had flat tires and kayaks were taken by neighbors (family I believe). Over all the property was cozy, clean, and cool. Wonderful location with dock! We loved the local low key feel of the area. Fun to explore somewhere new. This getaway is what we were looking for.

Sitting on the dock of the bay.
We had a wonderful stay at the Waterfront Cottage on Hoopers Island. The cottage had beautiful views of the sunrise and beautiful water views. The cottage was well-maintained, with a small deck and dock that was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there was enough space for two adults and th dog. Our host was friendly and helpful and ensured we had everything we needed for our stay. Responses to our questions were almost instantaneous. The next-door neighbor even introduced us to soft-shell crab preparation. We would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation on the water.

A quiet get away
Small cottage with breathtaking views of the river in the backyard. Beautiful remote area best seen by car. Bikes are provided but use with caution because you share the road with cars. The little things needed to be attended like air in the bike tires, cleaning the bathroom. Bring enough clothes for your stay because there is no washer and dryer. (We didn’t read their amenities) The communication was excellent. Overall we would definitely recommend this location for a quiet getaway.

Waterside Paradise
Hi, My husband, 8 year old daughter and I had a wonderful week enjoying our stay at this waterside retreat. The house is clean, well decorated and quaint. We enjoyed meals on the deck overlooking the water and evening campfires by the private dock. Bird watching at the house was excellent! We saw a bald eagle! We loved exploring Blackwater Nature Preserve which is only a short, scenic drive through beautiful, open countryside about 20 minutes away. Only a few minutes from house is an excellent waterside restaurant, Salty’s. The ambiance is great and the seafood is delicious! Everyone is very friendly, waving as you pass and the area has a special small town feel that we hope is not lost over time with development. Overall it was a very relaxing, fun week full of great memories together.

Wonderful getaway
Amazing! The first morning it was in the 50s! The area was not what I had expected after visiting the eastern shore for fifty years. I felt welcome & comfortable in this environment as it was similar to what my working class grandparents had introduced us to as children. A retired machinist he transitioned his talents to being a waterman. We’d camp in remote areas where he’d take us out and taught us to provide for ourselves through fishing, dredging, crabbing, farming and hunting. On these trips we’d even go to local farms to gather and pick our own fresh produce directly from the fields. So to see the locals surrounding us on Hoopers Island doing the same gave me a sense of peace that’s hard to articulate.. I had come prepared for the sights and set up a pair of 20x binoculars on a tripod soon after arriving and the first morning we were given a show few on Earth ever see!! I saw what I initially thought was a GoldenEagle land in a tree in the neighboring yard 50-60 yards from our back porch! Then, a Bald Eagle landed right next to it. To my shock, yet a third large raptor, another Bald Eagle landed completing the family. I was is awe having been kayaking for decades Id never been half as close, but here, easily inside 50yards.. My partner was able to see in such detailed clarity the sand and fish scales on their beaks was distinct, stating, it’s already worth the expense. Just ten hours into a five day stay!

Stunning and tranquil location
My boyfriend and I needed to get away. This house and location was just what we needed. Beautiful scenery, cozy home. We started a full week and I was sad to go at the end of our trip. We look forward to visiting again in the future!
