Peaceful Vintage 1920's Lakefront Red Log Cabin

Coming down Sunset View Lane, the sign at the end of our driveway, lets you know you've arrived at Camp David! A peaceful and cozy 100 year old red log cabin. Rumor has it, this former resort cabin, was used by gangsters from Chicago! The signatures in the logs will have you standing and reading who visited this cabin over the years and when they visited! We've seen signatures from 1919! This charming red cabin was built from logs floating in the lake. Featuring 100 feet of lake front & fabulous sandy bottom for swimming. The cabin sits 40 feet from the water and is 600 square feet. Complete with modern appliances, refrigerator, gas stove and microwave. Adjoining the kitchen is the living room with a smart TV, cable and wifi is available. There is a rustic bath with shower, four season porch with two full beds. Forced air heat & window A/C. We have two exterior only security cameras. This is on at all times for security only. Porch features original logs and vaulted ceiling. A special west facing view of incredible sunsets, will not be forgotten. Spot for great campfires! A rare find, this is our personal cabin which we like to share with others.

Getaway to Camp David
My husband and I took a long weekend trip up north to just get away and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. It was very rustic and welcoming, and close enough to town for a game of golf, to grab floaties for the lake or any groceries or food. We would definitely love to stay again!

Unique cabin
The cabin is so cozy and just our style. Quiet neighborhood with a beautiful lake. It was windy the days we were there we weren’t able to grill or use the fire pit. We sat on the dock with our coffee and just enjoyed the beautiful scenery. We ate at the Wharf for dinner and the next day went to Nisswa for shopping and lunch. Can’t wait to go back!!

Camp David
A nice quiet place on a quiet road with excellent lake access. Close to several towns in case you need groceries, etc. The sand bottom lake is a plus if you wish to swim. There is also a nice dock if you bring your own boat. Swimming towels, chairs and an outdoor picnic table is a bonus.

A great 2 nights in MN!
Cabin was just what we were looking for. Something quaint and on a lake. Owner was very helpful with questions I had about the area prior to the trip and we even got to know their friendly neighbors. My favorite memories were early mornings on the dock with coffee and sitting by the campfire with a "non-coffee" drink listening to the loons. Kids loved being in a real log cabin!

We had the best weekend at Camp David! The cabin is a true up north experience, very rustic and charming. The lake is one of my favorite I have been to with crystal clear water and a very peaceful atmosphere. Wanda was excellent at communicating! We hope to be invited back in the future!

Great old fashioned Up North cabin
This cabin brought us back to our stays in the Pequot Lakes area in the 80's and early 90's! We loved the beds in the 4-season porch. You have to make the best use of a small amount of space. The lake is crystal clear. It would be fun to stay here during the summer and really take advantage of the outdoors!

Very Rustic Cabin
Cute little cabin with everything you need, on a nice little lake. The water was crystal clear. The loons were loud a clear. We got to get up close to a majestic bald eagle sitting at the top of a tree overlooking the lake. It was nice to get away and decompress for a bit. Thanks for sharing your cabin!

Excellent getaway!
This cabin was in a great spot. Beautiful lake with lovely sunsets and loons calling. Very cozy, with all of the things you might need, including floaties & beach towels! We enjoyed paddling around in the rowboat and watching the sunfish spawn under the dock. The lake was clear with few weeds. Great for swimming! WiFi speed & range was great! Would not have expected that, but was very nice to have in the evenings. Would definitely visit again!

Cute Little Cabin
The cabin is cozy and adorable. Close to the lake which is beautiful. The furniture, while old fashioned, was extremely comfortable. We spent a ton of time relaxing on the red couch! Had a few minor issues. The chain in the toilet kept coming loose, causing issues with flushing, and the water pressure in the sink and shower were near nothing. It was also extremely cold in the bedroom, despite us adjusting the heat, and the portable heater in the bedroom did not work. Overall, we seriously enjoyed our trip! I’d recommend this cabin to couples looking for a nice weekend to rest and relax!
