Come and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the Shenandoah Valley and all that it has to offer. Visit the 25+ wineries in the valley, enjoy the delicious restaurants, stroll the historic towns, or just sit on the porch and sip a glass of wine. Our Fiddletown cottage is located in the heart of the valley, with easy access to all areas of Amador County. The rolling hills, sprawling grape vines, and century-old oak trees set the perfect backdrop for your next vacation.
The space
The cottage has two bedrooms downstairs and an open upstairs loft. The front bedroom has a double bed and a twin. The back bedroom has one queen bed. The loft has a double bed and two twins. There is one full bath in the main house with a clawfoot tub and shower option. The downstairs basement area was historically a brewery, and the rustic walls and marble floors reflect that history. The basement has a dining area, a pool table, a full kitchen and bath (so technically it’s a “2 bathroom house”, but the basement is accessed thru the outside), and opens to the backyard via a large barn-type door. The backyard borders a creek and is quite spacious. There is ample dining space and games available.
Guest access
The cottage is a two hour drive from the Bay Area and just an hour to South Lake Tahoe. The whole house and backyard is accessible. The backyard is enclosed by a gate on either side of the driveway. There is plenty of parking in the driveway and also on the street. The basement can be reached via the outside, either from the driveway or the stairs from the back porch. There is a treehouse onsite that is NOT safe and should absolutely NOT be climbed upon or used in any way.
Other things to note
Fiddletown is nestled in the hills of the Shenandoah Valley - perfect location for wine-tasting enthusiasts. The town is historic, with many of the structures dating back to the 1800s. The larger town of Plymouth is a 5 minute drive away and there you will find one of the area's best restaurants, Taste, as well as grocery stores and other shopping.
IN THE WINTER TIME, Fiddletown is within close reach of ski areas; 1 hr from Kirkwood (check to make sure roads are open) and 90 min from Sierra-at-Tahoe, for those who also want a respite from the snow after a day of skiing/playing.
