STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! THEY ARE DISHONEST AND UNPROFESSIONAL.
I traveled to Turkey for over a month, and in the third week, I arrived in Fethiye. When I checked in, the receptionist told me that my room had been canceled because my credit card had been declined. I was shocked, as I had been using the same card for three weeks without any problems. I immediately called my son in the US, who contacted the bank and Hotel.com. Both confirmed that there was no issue with my reservation and that no transactions had been declined.
At the same time, I overheard the receptionist telling the same thing to four other people. I then listened to their conversation in Turkish and learned that the hotel had canceled our reservations because some other guests had offered to pay more money to extend their stay.
I told the receptionist that there was no issue with my credit card and that Hotel.com had confirmed that everything was okay. I demanded that they do something to remedy the situation, as they had canceled my reservation on purpose. However, they refused to offer any compensation.
I then asked to speak to the manager, Burak. I told him that I could not find another hotel at the last minute and that it would cost me a fortune. He said that I could stay, but that I would have to pay double the original price. I was so disappointed with his response, and I told him that I would not be spending a penny on his hotel. I left and found another place to stay.This hotel ruined my trip.
