Maison Centrale, ancient modern mid century authors village house sleeps 6

Once a wine growers workers accommodation in the centre of the village, the house is set up as a row of 3 gites that make it an ideal place for a few or for an entire family to take a vacation. the 3 gites sleep 2,4 or 6 people all self contained. We only have one set of guests each booking so there is no worry of having to share the outdoor space with anyone else. Its ideal for a large family as you will all have your own private living space.
In a village with all amenities, grocery store, bakery, tapas bar, michelin star restaurant, hairdresser etc etc.
Being one of the very few houses in the village with outdoor space, this unique house has been restored to an original state, but furnished with a mix of items, mainly for the mid twentieth century, the simplistic medieval architecture is a great backdrop to design elements from the last century.
A unique mix makes it different from the usual shabby chic you usually see in France.
Unit 1 sleeps 2 and has orginal tiled floors and am amazing spiral staircase. Unit 2 sleeps 6 on 4 floors, with open plan kitchen, open fires and 2 bathrooms, with terra-cotta tile floors, exposed original beams and wonderful spiral plaster and tile staircases. Unit 3 sleeps 4, it has huge glass doors that open onto the courtyard.
All linens and towels supplied, kitchens include gaggenau appliances and bathrooms have large enclosed showers.
The enclosed courtyard over over 50' x 12' allows for outside eating and relaxing, we have outdoor furniture for eating and lounging.
Being in the centre of the village and with a tapas bar nearby, you can very easily enjoy the local wines and culinary delights, it can also be quite busy on a friday night with live music and speciality foods.
Only about 25 mins form the mediterranean sea and very close to several natural rivers and lakes there are great places to visit to enjoy the local surroundings free of charge. also great vineyard walks visiting the local goat farm for wonderful cheeses are just around the corner. Tennis courts are available in the village and there are often local 'fetes' to enjoy more wines and local produce.
Behind the house is often the place for live music performances and on the outskirts of the village is a theatre for dance and other local performers to show off their abilities. the nearby town of lezignan has all you need, several supermarkets including aldi and on wednesday is the very large market for a wonderful selection of local produce. at weekends there are great 'vide greniers' where you can pick up an array of items.
The closest airport is carcassonne, served by ryanair, but you can use toulouse or perpignan as well with a 90min car journey.
Spain is very close, so you can easily drive there and return in a day where you can enjoy yet another cultural experience, figueres, the home of salvador dali only a short journey away, with sitges and barcelona just a little further on.

Can be a little windy by the sea! Can’t wait to plan another trip.

Beautiful house in beautiful village
Beautifully decorated spacious house with a lovely outdoor space in a charming village with first class restaurants. A terrific relaxing stay. Flexibility on check in and check out times also really enhanced the stay.

Excellent accommodation in central village location
We stayed as a group of 11 over a long weekend to attend a family wedding. The three properties, connected by the outdoor space, worked so well for our extended family. The properties are well equipped with good quality fixtures, fittings, furnishings and appliances. The village has a supermarket, bakery, newsagent and a couple of restaurants all within a very short walking distance. Extremely comfortable inside and the outdoor area enabled very sociable evenings.

Cute rental in a quaint and kind little French town.
In the sweet little town of Ferrals-Les-Corbières, you'll find this rustic, yet modern rental, with quiet nights and bustling days. The rental is cool even though un-airconditioned. We especially loved the "patio." Perfect tea pot and french press. The WIFI was very reliable and strong. A few things to be aware of: There a few plug-ins in the house (none in the bathrooms) and the parking is a fun search upon return back to town. Very close is Lézignan-Corbières. On the way there are large grocery stores (the market on Wednesdays shouldn't be missed) and great shopping. 20 minutes away to the North is Carcassonne and 10 minutes more North is Toulouse. 15/20 minutes to the South you'll find Narbonne and 5 minutes more the coast (we like Chalet beach). There are many wineries very close (including Maylandie - a MUST!) and even more with in a 15 minute drive (check out Abbaye Fontfroide, Famille Fabre and Château Grand Caumont). There are 2 excellent and highly recommended restaurants (Bembe, across the street, for grilled food and La Crimiti for fine dining). The people in the Grocery and Tobac and super helpful. The most important thing to us was the community of lovely people that treated us like family. Everyone greets you kindly and wants to talk. On Father's Day, we were blessed to participate in a town event of a walk through the vineyards (this included pastries & coffee and a snack mid-walk) and lunch. The president of the walking club joined us and showed us special sites and breath-taking views of the area. At lunch, we were greeted and welcomed warmly, then joined in the delicious 4 course lunch and drank and talked with everyone. At the end, amongst the singing and merriment, the Mayor's wife gave us a painting by a local artist. We were deeply moved and will never forget our experience in F-L-C!

A gem! A really lovely place.
We stayed for 3 nights, the owners were so helpful in the lead up and allowed us to arrive and leave at any time. The place is beautiful and so interesting to look around! Very clean and there was lots of communal space. We had a great stay. Thanks so much

Merveilleux!
