Hutchens Lake house
My husband and I rented this house for a few days right around the July 4th holiday. Over the weekend, the lake and surrounding area is BUSY, but during the weekdays, it's much quieter. First, the good: Fennville is a hidden gem, the house is nicely-appointed - very clean with a comfortable bed in the lower-level master bedroom, all the furniture and appliances seem almost brand new. (We didn’t use the two bedrooms upstairs.) The back patio area is well-equipped to grill or sit and relax, although being all concrete, it can get hot. Things to note: there is nothing in the kitchen but for cook-and dishware. No coffee filters, no salt, no pepper, etc. like we are used to seeing in other rentals. The listing mentions a private dock available for use, but we found no information on which one it was. The main TV room is upstairs with a half of a handrail, in case someone in your party needs that information. There is no cable TV or local news channels -- TV is streaming only off of your own apps and logins. The master bedroom TV simply had snow on the screen. There are no books or games (outside of a small NERF-style ping pong table in the TV room) for rainy days. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but do know the house doesn't feel like an owner / family uses it, it feels more like a great big hotel suite.
