Situated on the top (second) floor of an elegant Victorian home behind the beach-side Spa Pavilion, Gulls’ Nest is accessed through the front garden to the original front door into the lobby. Up the stairs to the front door of Gulls’ Nest, the apartment is located at the top of this second set of stairs, where you will find a light-filled property with palewood floors throughout. Being in the attic there are some low beams to look out for! This property is not suitable for children under the age of eight due to the steep stairs.
KITCHEN/DINING ROOM
The large, attractive kitchen is well-fitted for a group of 4, with a dining table overlooking the town at the back of the property, and an internal window giving sea views from across the flat. You'll find everything you need for catering at home including an electric oven, four-ring hob, microwave,
LIVING ROOM
The inviting living room has plenty of seating, a small log burner, a TV, games to play and a selection of books and magazines. Grab the telescope and gaze out to sea… the container ships entering Felixstowe terminal provide a fascinating glimpse into the busiest port in the country.
MAIN BEDROOM
The main bedroom has a king-sized bed, dressed in white cotton linens. There is plenty of space to sit and work at the window desk or enjoy a coffee and a good book.
EN-SUITE BATHROOM
The ensuite bathroom has a bath with an overhead shower and a separate handheld shower. There is a toothbrush charger inside the sink cabinet.
TWIN BEDROOM
The second bedroom has 2 small single beds (with storage drawers) which can be fixed together to make a double (just ask in advance, it'll be made as a twin unless requested). Again, dressed stylishly with white cottons and throws, there is a second ensuite bathroom with a large shower and electric towel heater.
Both bedrooms have space to hang and store clothes, chairs, dressing tables, extra bedding or throws and hairdryers. All windows have smart Venetian blinds adding to the contemporary feel.
OUTSIDE
Gulls’ Nest is a perfect spot to enjoy all the fun that Felixstowe has to offer. There's no allocated parking but no restrictions on the road in front of the house. The apartment doesn't have outdoor seating however it's within walking distance is the beach with its Pier, Beach Street, amusement arcades, restaurants and cafes or just take a stroll along the shingle and sandy shores. Head north along the prom to characterful Felixstowe Ferry with its fish shacks and estuary views, or south to the historic Landguard Fort and Felixstowe Museum. Throughout the warmer months, there are festivals – art, books, cars, to name a few. Each Saturday is a ParkRun on the beach front and there are tennis courts to book on Bath Road. Beach yoga and sea swimming are popular all year round!
Access to this property will be by the property owner or housekeeper who will meet and group all guests. There is an emergency key in the lockbox, for which the number will be given if needed.
Due to the 2 sets of quite steep stairs, and various low beams, this property is not suitable for young children or those with mobility issues.
Infants are welcome, and we can provide a travel cot and highchair if requested (not suitable for babies who are crawling as there is no stairgate).
The garden and small car park at the back are unfortunately not available for guest use at this time.
This property is not suitable for any sort of parties or commercial use.
