I debated about writing this but I’ve found that constructive criticism can be helpful in the long run.
There was no communication from the owner, other than “thanks” when I booked. I reached out to him to ask what the code was to get in, the WiFi password and any other pertinent info. He responded with the code and the WiFi password and that’s it. I had to look at pictures of the listing when I arrived because I didn’t even know which door to go to. When I went in it was clean enough, but the more I looked around I found dust on exercise equipment and knickknacks, and quite a few cabinets were completely disorganized and cluttered with house repair supplies (very unclean). The bathroom shower had community shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and THREE razors for people to use (opened, used). This is very unhygienic, and frankly just gross. The shower wouldn’t drain either, so I was standing in dirty water at the end of my shower. The toilet would not flush at the end of my stay (only number 1, so I don’t think that was me).
I could hear every single step taken and the TV from the people upstairs, too. Not restful at 7:00am. And the thermostat had something wrong with it. I set it on 60 degrees by the last night (middle of the night), and was still sweating. I think with some plumping help, organization, and professional cleaners, as well as more communication from the owner, the majority of this can be fixed and it will be a much better VRBO.
