ExeterSelfCatering is a highly rated, ground floor apartment comprising a very large, open plan living/dining and fully equipped kitchen area with two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, a private car park, shared garden and fast internet. It is over 95 square metres in total.

We are proud that guests have rated our apartment as the best in Exeter, regularly attracting 5★ reviews. We are also a repeat TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence winner. The apartment is independently owned and managed - we'll personally or virtually greet you on arrival.

The apartment, which is furnished to a very high standard, forms part of a historic Georgian building, where the period features are complemented by modern comforts, including full double glazing and gas central heating throughout.

Situated in a very quiet area of central Exeter, a short walk from the city centre, the apartment is located on Clifton Hill, a leafy Georgian terrace next to Belmont Park. From the outside you enter into a smart communal entrance hall with stairs to three other apartments. An inner door opens into the entrance hall of our private, fully self-contained apartment.

The very large 8m x 4m living/dining room allows enjoyment of the high ceilings, together with three fully double-glazed, south facing sets of doors and Juliet balconies, making the space bright, light and airy and overlooking the shared gardens.

The living area is furnished with two three seater sofas, coffee tables and equipped with a 50” Samsung Smart TV, sound system, Blu-Ray player and Bluetooth connection for your personal devices.

The dining area is equipped with a table and seating for six, enabling you to entertain, using the extremely well equipped kitchen.

The contemporary kitchen, with granite worktops, is equipped primarily with Bosch appliances – an induction hob, multi-function oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. There are a range of small appliances such as a toaster, together with various ways of making tea and coffee, and even a Nutribullet. There is an extensive selection of cookware, utensils, china and glassware.

A good night’s sleep should be guaranteed as both double bedrooms are at the rear of the building and come with luxurious hotel quality, plenty of pillows, cushions, luxury Egyptian linen and towels. The main bedroom has a superking and the second bedroom two full size singles (superking on request). Anti-allergy duvets and pillows are also available on request.

The main bedroom also has a double wardrobe, chest of drawers and a TV. The windows are fitted with the original period shutters. There is a fully tiled en-suite with rainshower, toilet, basin and heated towel rail.

The second bedroom also has a double wardrobe/drawer in which there is a hotel safe.

The adjacent family bathroom has a full size bath with a shower over and a glass shower screen, toilet and basin.

Guests have use of the shared garden and next door is Belmont Park, with a children’s play area.

Many places in the counties of Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire are within an hour’s travel time, with almost all less than two hours. This includes world class resorts and beaches in Devon & Cornwall and heritage sites such as the Jurassic Coast, Bath and Stonehenge, and many National Trust locations.

A car is not needed for your stay - there is a Waitrose supermarket close by, the city centre and Quayside are a short walk - all in all perfected located to explore Exeter. If you bring a car there is a private space in our onsite, secure car park.

Exeter getaway
A great property that had all you needed whether a 2 day getaway or a month long visit. Ideally located you could walk into the city centre and make your way down to Exeter quay where there is plenty to see and do. We had a week here and it wasn’t long enough, we managed to see a lot of what Devon and Exeter has to offer but we will be back and would use this as our base again. Thoroughly recommended.

Pretty well perfect!
Everything was perfect. Phil had gone to a lot of trouble to make the apartment Covid safe and it was spotless and very comfortable throughout. There is an 18 minute pleasant walk to town but this is compensated by a very quiet neighbourhood. We had a very happy stay in this apartment.

Really enjoyed our stay, the apartment was lovely and spacious and had everything you could possibly want/need and more 🙂. Location was great too, with the playground just round the corner, worked out really well for our 4 year old. Best property we've ever rented by a mile! This lovely flat is perfect in every sense. It was spotless and clean. Good location even if you do not have a car as it is in walking distance to city centre, shops etc. If anyone is thinking of spending time in Devon, this flat in Exeter is quite central so you can easily travel and explore the area. Kitchen comes with all the facilities and more for a comfortable living. Whether you are having a short break or a long stay I would highly recommend this place. Philip was most useful in providing any information we needed and very approachable. Having scones, cream and strawberries on arrival was a lovely welcoming touch. The boys really enjoyed the board games. I can only describe our time there as simply excellent.

One of the best I’ve ever booked
Firstly, the property owner (Philip) was very friendly, efficient and approachable. To be welcomed with scones, jam and clotted cream for tea on arrival was totally unexpected but much appreciated. Very comfortable apartment - easy walk into the Town Centre and Waitrose is just a short walk away - never regretted not having a car. Kitchen is more than fully equipped. The apartment was large, well located for walking into Exeter and extremely comfortable. The living room is large with comfortable furniture, a beautiful smart TV and a fully equipt kitchen. We were very grateful for the milk, scones, hot cross buns and bananas left for us and the kitchen has everything you need including washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc. The bedrooms have large, very comfortable beds and the bathrooms are beautiful with an excellent shower in the en suite. Loved the big bath towels too! Philip met us on arrival and was very helpful. Thank you for everything. If you are looking for an Exeter property for any length of stay, you do not need to look any further than this one. We will definitely be back.

Immaculate and spacious ground-floor flat near the heart of Exeter (with a very hospitable host)
We stayed in this flat for one week during the summer of 2016. It is among the best VRBO rentals we've ever stayed in. The flat is very well cared for, the beds were really comfortable, the hot water was plentiful, and the towels were large and soft. We appreciated that the flat was very, very clean. The location is ideal, with a nice park a half-block away, the sights of downtown Exeter just a 10-minute walk away, and the university campus a 30-minute walk away. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, separated by a hallway from the living area, our whole family was very comfortable here. Based on the VRBO photos, I was surprised how large the rooms are; there is a lot of space to spread out in this flat. Our host, Philip, was very hospitable. He helped to transport us to and from the St Davids train station, and he went out if his way to make sure we were comfortable. If you need to stay in Exeter, this is the place to stay. If we ever find ourselves in the region again, we will stay here.
