About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Evan's Mountain Retreat

The property is 5 wooded acres with a stocked pond and a tree stand, directly across the road from the Ozark National forest and thousands of acres of trails, lakes , rivers, deer and turkey. The rustic cabin is one room with a sleeping loft for 1-3 people. EMR is 20 miles northeast of Russellville which has dining, gas, laundry and other services. Bring your hunting and fishing gear or simply relax. Sorry, but cell phone and internet service is weak. The water is from a well and has some Iron and Sulphur in it so it has a slight smell and taste to it. We provide a few gallons of bottled water to get you started.

Secluded and near hiking trails
We loved the location and how quiet it was. We brought our dog and she got along with the sweet dogs on the property. I don't recommend this place for a romantic getaway or to anyone who doesn't like bugs. There are no frills. We were happy with the kitchen, the DVD collection, and the cleanliness of beds. We spent most of our time driving around and hiking.

Everything was perfect!
We planned to stay at this little cabin to view the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse. Planning about 1 1/2 years ahead of time we were hoping for good weather. The weather was perfect as was the cabin. We love the little fishing pond and the quite of the mountain. Morning sunrises beautiful. The cabin had anything you may need including a nice spice selection. Everyone in Arkansas, from the moment we crossed across the Arkansas state line, was nothing but kind, hospitable and courteous. We will be back to this little cabin.

We drove 9 hours from Houston only to find the owner had cancelled the reservation. No notice!
Neither the owner nor VRBO notified us of the cancellation. Last time with VRBO.

Great location, beautiful property with a most gracious host!
First off, I have to give Scott mad props for stocking this cabin! We didn’t need to bring half the stuff we did. He had everything! A toaster and toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker, pots, pans, blankets, towels, garbage bags, plates, silverware, mugs, zip lock bags, containers, scissors, I mean EVERYTHING! I tried to list the things I could remember. He even had board games and movies! Like a ton of movies! Because there is also a tv with a dvd player. He would also ALWAYS contact me back right away if I had any questions. My only issue, and it’s not a super issue, is the shower head. Great pressure, but scott, you need a new one, it was so powerful it like stings your back lol. Because there only two spray options. The water smells like sulfur, so make sure to bring your own drinking water, but again, don’t worry, he gives you 6 gallons of water to start with! I was so impressed with the stay and would highly recommend it. It’s right outside Russellville, which is a great town for dining and has a Walmart. Thank you so much! We had a great time!

Early mornings and late bedtimes
Remote cozy cabin in the woods. Just enough space for a family of 4 to pile in play, eat and rest. The cabin is well-built out in the wilderness but is safe and peaceful. The back porch was spider city, but the pond was well stocked, and we picked up every rock on the property. A/C works well and loft sleeps cozy. With a toddler, there was no privacy. Mornings came early and bedtimes were late. We had a great trip!

This cabin was absolutely perfect for my boyfriend and I. It's secluded, quiet, in a great location, and it had all the necessities we needed. We will definitely be staying with Scott again!

Quiet cabin in the woods
Cabin in the woods. The water definitely stinks. It smells after taking a shower or washing dishes. We brought our own drinking water to use. The place stays cool with the AC unit, beds were clean and comfortable. Loft looks a little sketchy but feels solid. I’d stay there again.

Nice and remote
good quiet get away. Only negative was you for sure had to bring your own drinking water. The well water smelled of sulfur and iron. Was even pale orange in a glass. But otherwise good place to get away and rest.
