Family Reunion
We had family come from Maine, Tennessee, Illinois, & Florida. We chose this location because it is described as "on a lake". Actually, the house is 3 blocks from the lake and has no lake access. We had many beautiful views of the lake as we drove by it, but the lake was only accessible for private owners.
Also, the pool at the house was smaller than the picture suggests, and the rock waterfalls shown in the photos do not function at all.
On the day we checked in, the pool water was green, and the bottom of the pool was not visible at all. The property owner came by, per our request, to help clean the pool water and explain the chemical situation. Thank goodness we have a Spanish-speaking family member to help us translate the Spanish-speaking homeowners who speak very little English. It took a full day and a half until the pool water was swimmable enough, but still not as clear and enticing as one would hope. On the third day, the pool was acceptable to us.
The air conditioning was not evenly distributed in all rooms. On the day prior to check-out day, the air conditioning stopped working altogether which made for a hot and restless sleep. The owner did send someone out in the middle of the night to repair it, and all was good in the morning.
We enjoyed the pool table and the toys and games for the children, and the large dining area, which accommodated all of us.
The futons are not comfortable at all for sleeping, so we are grateful that we brought our own air mattresses.
