Onward!

My husband and I are long term Estes Park locals and history buffs, and immediately fell in love with the Twin Owls Cottage. It's in an historic neighborhood and is one of the older buildings in the Estes Park Valley, so this is your chance to stay in an authentic home that still has convenient access to downtown and the National Park. It's been fully restored and modernized, with fast wifi, proper heating, and a fully equipped kitchen.

Twin Owls Cottage is a two story gem just blocks from the town's best restaurants and shops. The main floor features a large, open dining and living area, complete with comfortable sofas and chairs, and lots of natural light. A cozy fireplace is great for the winter months. The kitchen, plus a bathroom a and bedroom are on that main floor. The lower level features another bathroom, plus a bedroom with a full size bed and another bedroom with two twins. We also have a pullout couch in the downstairs media area.

There's a well-equipped kitchen, plus outdoor living space for your family and friends to have outdoor meals.

Past guests have raved about our home:

“… The house was spotless, which was huge for us. The bedsheets, bathroom... everything looked and smelled clean.”
“… We absolutely loved this home! Our family of 5 had lots of room to sprawl out. Plenty of parking, great location (even better than expected), nice cozy furniture with two areas to watch movies, and very clean.”
"… Wonderful stay in an impeccably clean, well-equipped and perfectly located house in Estes Park! Will certainly return..”
"… We loved staying here! The house is super cute and it is seriously only 5 minutes into town. Can’t beat the location. Very quiet neighborhood."

Our favorite part of the home is its perfect location. A picturesque drive up the canyon, along the banks of Fall River, takes you to the entry to Rocky Mountain National Park in about five minutes. Meanwhile, it's just a short, leisurely stroll to town for drinks, meals and shopping.

BEDROOMS

Queen - A cozy main floor bedroom with comfortable queen bed and warm and inviting wood walls.

Full - A sleeping area on the lower level featuring a double bed for two people.

Twins - A second sleeping area downstairs features two twins

Pullout Sofa - The downstairs media room has a pullout sofa bed.

LIVING & ENTERTAINMENT

Outdoor Spaces - Our home features a nice outdoor dining space off the front door (see photos), perfect for summertime drinks or meals after a long day of hiking. There's also a BBQ for outdoor cooking. The home offers views of the surrounding mountains.

Living Room - We have a cozy living room with indoor fireplace, comfortable sofa, dining area, luxurious reading chair, and lots of natural light. A smart TV offers lots of streaming options (bring your own accounts).

WiFi - You’ll enjoy a strong 1 gig internet connection for streaming, entertainment and work.

LAUNDRY & COOKING

Kitchen - The galley kitchen is fully equipped for all your meal prep needs while you're staying here, though restaurants are so close that you may never cook here anyway! There are two interior dining areas, one off the kitchen and one in the living area.

Laundry - There's a washer and a dryer the lower level that you are free to use. Please do! We try to keep the detergent stocked but don't guarantee it, so it may be wise to bring a little of your own.

Guests will have access to our entire property:

Parking for 3 cars
Upstairs bedroom & bathroom
Downstairs sleeping areas with bathroom
Living room, dining room, kitchen
Outdoor living spaces

My husband and I live in town but have turned over management to Nathan and Nancy with The Wolf Rentals. They will likely be your main points of contact during your stay, as they have hosted 10,000 or more guests over the years and do an incredible job helping you to feel at home.

The cottage is situated among other cute cabins built around the turn-of-the-twentieth-century. There is a view of the famous Stanley Hotel from the living room window. Gorgeous views of Lumpy Ridge from in and outside of the property.

Within a few minutes by foot you'll find lots of great food and shopping, and then you can come back to the privacy of the cottage, which is removed from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

Getting around is easy from the Twin Owls Cottage. It's adjacent to route 34, and is just a few minutes by car from the Fall River Road entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. The home is also a few blocks to the heart of downtown Estes Park, so you can walk to your favorite bars and restaurants, and even the historic Stanley Hotel.

During the summer months, a free shuttle makes its way through town and into the National Park. The closest stop, Red Line #2, is about a block away.

NOISE

This cottage is in a residential neighborhood; we ask guests to please be respectful of the neighbors and be mindful of noise levels. No parties or loud music outside. Guests are welcome to relax in any of the outdoor areas on the property, but after 10 pm please keep volume low so that next door neighbors don't have any issues sleeping.

NONPAYING GUESTS

Insurance forbids nonpaying and non-registered guests on property. Exterior security camera present to pick up nonpaying guests and deter parties.

ADDITIONAL GUEST FEE

There is an additional charge per person for your stay after the first two guests. The platform will automatically calculate the total when you input your dates and guest count.

AIR CONDITIONER

Like nearly every other home in town, there’s no A/C. Thankfully mountain air blows down from the high peaks and will cool down the place quickly in the evenings if you open the windows.

Such a cute property in a great location!
My SO and I came to Estes Park for our anniversary and had an awesome time! This property was great for the 2 of us and our pup but could have easily fit several other people. Very roomy! The location was so close to downtown and not far from Rocky Mountain National Park. Definitely recommend staying here!

Great spot in Estes
Family of four stayed here for a long weekend. Great location - easy access to downtown Estes as well as RMNP. Easily accessible as well (paved roads practically all the way there, easy drive through the mountains). Property was well decorated and comfortable for our stay. Very clean and the boys enjoyed the foosball table in the basement. Property manager was available if needed (which we didn't) and very communicative which was great. Overall would stay again and loved our time there.

Wonderful Labor Day Trip
The property is exactly what you're looking for if you want something relaxing that is close to downtown allowing everything to be within a 5 minute drive. Perfect location and environment if you're looking to be close to Rocky Mountain National and some other great hikes. Even with warmer temperatures it wasn't overly warm. My contact with the host was incredibly helpful both before, during, and after our stay.

Not as clean as expected
The property was close to town which was a plus. The cottage was surfaced cleaned but needs a thorough deep clean. My two year old was walking around barefoot and by evening the bottoms of his feet were black. The couch upstairs needs to go. I lost my sons sock, so I thought I’d pull out the cushions to check for it and yuck! The down stairs smelled musty/like animals, so the carpets should be cleaned as well. I thought that the landscaping could also use some TLC. Otherwise, the cottage was close to town which was a plus. For as much as we paid for it, it should be cleaned more thoroughly.

Nice little house, comfortable. We enjoyed the stay in Estes Park.
I sent a few emails the first evening when we arrived pertaining to the TV and internet and did not receive a response. The next day I received a form email asking how night 1 was, but no response to my questions. The outdoor trash can was completely full, so we had to leave trash inside. The listing showed bunk beds in the basement sleeping space, there were no bunk beds, we found mattresses under the beds, rearranged a bit and pulled that out for my daughter to sleep on. The stay was nice, but a few issues.

Clean property
The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They stayed in touch with necessary details. The property was very clean and neat. It was well stocked with necessary items. Great location in a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from downtown. The beds were extremely firm, so we woke up sore every day. Fans in every room would’ve been nice as there was no AC (as advertised) and we got hot at night.
