Nice place, needs touches for 90 summer users
My family and I booked a different vrbo 6 months in advance which canceled on us two days before check in. This was the only house left within 50 miles that would fit 6 adults and 2 kids. It is a nice home and we enjoyed our stay, especially since it is in Estes and close to RMNP and downtown. In a neighborhood but still very quiet. Clean, comfortable beds, plenty of towels, nicely stocked dishwares in kitchen. One of our biggest problems was that there were basically no screens in the windows or doors. Main level bedroom and lower level living area has screens, that is it. Being 90 degress all week, it was unbearable in the house from 2pm to 7pm and with 2 kids under 5, we can't just leave doors wide open to get air circulation. We also did not want to open all windows up because we did not want bugs inside. Since the house does not have air conditioning, this should be a priority and is the main thing preventing us from booking again. The main level bathroom has a giant window in it that made me uncomfortable. While it is frosted, a curtain or blinds for this window would provide much needed privacy and help with temperature control, again just very hot in summer. The lower level also needs blinds so hot tub users have privacy from little eyes inside. The clearly locked down half portion of the house was odd, with an entry door into our bathroom that was creepy. Overall, this place was not our first choice but it was nice to have when we were in a pinch. Good stay.
