The Rio is a property in transition: it is an extreme value for the price we were offered for a remodeled suite in the Ipanema Tower. Our room was huge, luxurious and serene. Two of the five pools were open 10 am to 5 pm (waterfall features were off) . For us, those hours are way too short for a resort (but so it is with the majority of Vegas pools we researched - very few extend their hours earlier or later than this unfortunately...). I would really love to use the hot tubs in the evening, nights and mornings when it is cold, and to continue using the pool area when it is still hot and light out. Also, music in the pool area is played loud... we tried to find the quietest corner... others may not mind. We didn't order food or drinks at the pool, but it was clear the staff were just getting up to speed, taking longer than they probably would have wanted... About being in transition: the massive interiors of the Rio property are slated for major remodeling... for now most of its indoor mall like area is closed or empty... What is open is a typical Vegas cigarette smoke filled casino, and a small handful of eating options. One can tell that the Rio wants to reinvigorate some former glory, and the journey there is just beginning... At some point in the future, this has the potential to become a destination resort, full of restaurants, shops and attractions. Right now, it was a way of getting a hugely discounted suite, with new pools.

Everything was great except the check-out process, it was a little confusing.

Best beds and pillows on the strip, sooo soft and comfortable

Having the promenade be connected to the property was very convenient. Never had to go onto the busy strip for dinner, etc unless it was to site see.

Excellent experience. Would recommend and visit again.
