Best cabin near Glacier

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gary and Theresa's cabin in Essex. The cabin is the most well stocked and the cleanest vacation rental I've ever stayed at. The hosts were so kind and left us a bottle wine and pasta on our first night. Location is phenomenal; perfect for exploring both sides of the park. We would happily return!

Best Cabin in thevwest

Cabin was great-extremely clean and well stocked - location was good for hitting hikes on both sides of the Park. It is close to road and train tracks but that’s common in this area. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this cabin to anyone visiting Glacier NP.

Nice log cabin

Great hosts, extremely well stocked, lovely deck. Be aware that trains are nearby and it’s a bit of a drive to east Glacier and Many Glacier. Beautiful authentic log cabin.

Simply beautiful

This property is so well taken care. We travel a lot and this was the cleanest stay yet. I found this surprising for a cabin in the woods. The hosts were super sweet and left us a bottle of wine and homemade apple sauce. We were blessed to find this gem and enjoy Glacier while being immersed in the forest. We loved our down-time relaxing by the fire pit, roasting marshmallows and playing horseshoes.

Beautiful place to stay!

The cabin was beautiful inside and out. We had plenty of room for 3 adults and two teenagers. The location was great as well, midway between east and west GNP entrances. Theresa is a wonderful host. She and Apollo made us feel right at home. The cabin is very comfy and very well furnished with everything you need. We loved our stay here and would definitely choose this location again!

An amazing experience!

This was, by far, the best cabin and host experience I’ve ever had! The cabin was clean, beautiful and well stocked! Our hosts were incredibly welcoming and honestly, by the end of the week, they felt like family! No doubt, we will be back!

Perfect Place to Stay

This cabin is so cozy and beautiful. As many conveniences as possible were provided to us from staple pantry items, to DVDs and games provided. We had a place to wash clothes, cook meals, watch tv. It is located conveniently equal distance from the West and East Glacier entrances. We had less than desirable weather during our stay but the cabin was the perfect place to hunker down, make meals and watch movies.

Very clean, charming home. Right between both Glacier park entrances.

Hosts were fabulous, it was like having a kind neighbor you enjoy conversations with. My daughter fell in love with their dog. Super clean cabin, kitchen well stocked with whatever tools / etc you need, new grill was enjoyed so we didn't heat up the cabin. The train is right across the street, but not enough of an issue to deter a positive review (it did wake us a few times). Kids liked counting how many trains they saw in a week. Good location between park entrances. No A/C in the house, but it only got a little stuffy late afternoon and we were out of the house most days (with highs around 90 this week). Thanks Gary and Theresa for a fabulous stay!

A GREAT PLACE TO STAY

I can't say too much about how nice this rental was. Theresa & Gary were so welcoming. They thought of everything from soaps to spices & everything in between. The rental exceeded my expectations from a welcome basket & flowers to a loaf of homemade bread. The property is right between East & West Glacier, so everything is easy to reach. I would definetly stay here again & hope I will be able to sometime.

Absolutely Amazing

I can't say enough good things about our stay! Gary and Theresa were awesome and went out of their way to go above and beyond for us! We were treated like we were part of their family! The cabin was clean and cozy and well sound insulated. It had everything stocked in it you would need except for actual food, and in fact they gave us some of their own food! I would recommend staying here 10 out of 10 times every day of the week! Just make sure you stay for longer then three days because there is tons of stuff to do outdoors in the area!

Perfect location for Glacier National Park

A wonderful property located between the West Entrance of GNP and the east side which makes it perfect for exploring all sides of the park. This spotless cabin was equipped with a full kitchen including cooking basics (oil, spices), satellite tv, dvd, washer/dryer including all detergents and basic toiletries. The host is very welcoming and creates the perfect balance of being available to you while also offering you your privacy. The property has plenty of space for a family to enjoy, including camp fire and horseshoes as well as a nice creek just a minute down the road. Would definitely recommend.

Great Experiance!!!!

We have utilized sevral VRBO properties in the past and this beautiful house is now at the top of our list. Amazing to take a 3-minute walk on the property and come to a beautiful river which seperates the property from Glacier National Park. The house was the most well-stocked we've seen with a very nice welcome gift basket from the owners. The house is beautiful and the owners outstanding and helpful. Great access to Glacier National Park, away from the hustle and touristy West Glacier. Had a great time and we highly recommend the property. Greg & Sandy, Millville, NJ

Glacier National Park Visit

This location was great for exploring both sides of GNP, about 90 minutes to Many Glacier (east) and about 2 hours to Bowman Lake (west). The cabin was extremely clean and had everything we needed and more. Gary (owner) checked with us each day to ask how our day was, what we did, and if we needed anything. The welcome basket and fresh flowers were a great extra touch, and the hospitality was five star. There is a train which is pretty loud if you're out on the patio, but barely heard when inside the cabin. If we return to the area we would definitely stay here.

Soooo Accomodating

My family was scheduled to be in Glacier this June however my husband had to have multiple emergency surgeries so we had to cancel our trip. Gary and Theresa were so kind to us, praying for us and even sent our deposit back when we had to cancel our reservation. After he recuperates, we can't wait to come visit them and meet them face-to-face! They are the best! Jim & Cara Hathaway

Absolute Gem of a Cabin

If you are planning a trip to Glacier National Park this if the right place to rent. The owners are welcoming and concerned about your comfort and experience in the park. You will find the cabin is located that you can plan day trips in the East and West side of Glacier along with Waterton Lakes Park in Canada. The pictures don't do this rental justice. This is a great place for a mountain get away. The cabin is well stocked with anything you may forget. Just open a cabinet door and you are sure to find it. You will have a great vacation.

cabin too close to the road

The cabinet closest to the road and the train noise right across the road is very loud and squealing all night and day. Highway noise right by the cabin picked up around 5 AM it is very noisy all day on the loft bedroom is nice but the only accessible bathroom floor it is downstairs.

In a Word -- Perfection

I had read all the reviews of this cabin, and so I knew it would be beautiful and that the owners would be lovely. But words and pictures just don't do it justice. All the little touches in the cabin are just amazing, and you won't want to leave! Everything is wood, even the end tables. The kitchen is fully stocked, beyond what you'd need. It is such a wonderful, breathtaking environment that we were thankful when it rained for a morning, to give us an excuse to just stay inside this perfect place. Our boys ran all over the property, slaying dragons, and loving life. We all did. We will be back!

Exceptional!

Me, my husband, and son stayed in this cabin for 5 nights. All I can say is AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME. We pull up and the owners have a fire going in the fire pit outside their cabin. They come over to greet us and from the moment we met them we felt like part of their family. The cabin is so warm and inviting, if it weren't for wanting to sight see, we probably never would have left the cabin at all. Gary and Theresa are absolutely the most amazing hosts we have ever encountered. From the wonderful basket of goodies and fresh flowers when we arrived.....to all the helpful information while we were there. There is not one negative thing I can say about our stay. Absolutely amazing cabin, hosts, and scenery. I can NOT WAIT to visit again!

Beautiful cabin - Theresa and Gary are the perfect hosts!

We loved the location of the cabin - perfectly situated midway between the East Glacier and West Glacier park entrances. The cabin is beautifully appointed. Upon arrival at the cabin, there were flowers in a vase and a welcome note and basket (including a bottle of wine.) The cabin was immaculately clean. There was a fantastic fire ring and Gary started a fire for us one evening - we made s'mores using the ingredients that were in our welcome basket, so fun! Theresa did a fantastic job of communicating with me from the moment I contacted her about booking the cabin. She's just fabulous! The only draw back is that this beautiful cabin is set really close to a loud highway and train tracks. We visited during the summer and needed to keep the windows open. Advice: Bring your ear plugs!

Awesome place!!

Just wanna say we had a warm welcome from Libby and her husband.. The house was way more than we expected, it was so beautiful the detail inside on everything was just awesome. We got to enjoy the fire pit, the weather was great.. We went to west glazier on going to the sunroad it was beautiful. We went to many glazier where we saw a grizzly which was so awesome!! We saw lots of wildlife on this trip..And what topped it off was getting to meet Treasa and Gary they were the nicest people you would ever want to meet.. They made you feel like you were lifelong friends (which I hope we are lol) their property and house is so beautiful.. The 4 days we stayed wasn't long enough.. Teresa has everything you need for this house it was so nice not having to go out and buy the essentials they have thought of everything. My only regret is not getting more time to visit with Teresa and Gary, we defiantly plan to go back sometime, this is the best place all round for location and ect...

Beautiful cabin with fantastic owners

We spent a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this extraordinarily well equipped, well maintained, and spotlessly clean cabin. The location allowed us to explore many parts of Glacier Park with day trips and return each evening to a central location. We prefer to settle in for a week and prepare our own meals each evening and this cabin had everything necessary to do so and was a pleasant place to relax after a day of activities. Gary and Theresa are gracious and experienced hosts who managed to be available without being intrusive. They clearly enjoy people and renting their cabin, and it shows. This area is quite remote and I appreciated the fact that the owners were nearby. The grounds of this property are beautiful and it would be an exciting place for young children to explore, especially with all the themed features in the cabin itself. Trains are such a part of the history of this area that I found the trains passing across the street to be kind of neat and can't say we were bothered by the noise. I have no hesitancy recommending this property, especially as a base for families who want so explore this awesome area.

More than 5 stars

I don't even know where to being to describe how great our stay was with Gary & Theresa. As we were planning our trip to Montana they gave us ideas of places and activities to do while there. Once we arrived they made us feel like family by greeting us my name. Letting us borrow fishing rods, having a camp fire, telling us trails to hikes, places to fish, and having a STOCKED cabin are just some of the things that made our trip awesome. You could stay at their cabin and bring only your clothing and food and you would be set. The cabin pictures posted on here are great but in person you feel like you are at home and the details throughout the cabin are spectacular. When we come back to Montana we will defiantly bring the kids and book with Gary and Theresa again. They are located at a distance from Glacier National Park that you could drive there everyday. You will not be disappointed if you rent from Gary & Theresa. Thank you Gary and Theresa for making our stay very memorable. No regrets here!

A Repeat Performance!

Brought my wife and kids several years ago to Gary and Theresa's cabin. It's really not a cabin, it's a beautifully constructed and well appointed rustic home. You haven't had great coffee until you make it with their tap water - the best mountain water I've ever tasted. We had a wonderful time and were treated very well. After a lot of daydreaming about it, I finally went back with a fishing buddy last week. It's like I never left. Gary and Theresa greeted us with hugs and the warmest hospitality possible. I can see from the reviews below that my experience at the cabin isn't unique. Beyond the cabin doors are the most breathtaking views imaginable. Of yeah, we fished over 50 miles of river and found the best water and nicest trout right out back from the cabin. WARNING: clean air, happy people, gorgeous wilderness, belly laughs, and stress free living could become addictive and make you seriously consider staying forever. Consider yourself warned.
