"An oasis in the hot streets of Havana. Hostal Balcones Muralla is a place you dream about. My wife found this place on Expedia ,we were originally looking at the old classic hotels like the Inglaterra or nacional and what a choice. The building sits in the barrio streets of old Havana and is amazing. We arrived late at night and were greeted by Jorge with a smiling face and a free drink. He sat down with us and gave us loads of advice on the do's and dont's of Havana . We called these the 10 commandments and they saved us a lot of money. The bar is amazing with old antiques and paintings and great value cocktails (try the Mojitos definitely the strongest we had in Havana). We were then shown our room a beautiful two room apartment with 4 balconies looking out on the streets below. The rooms were also decorated with paintings and lovely old furniture. The bed was really comfortable and with air conditioning provided a good night's sleep every night. Every morning we came down for breakfast unlike anything we have had before with toast fruit vegetables and eggs all finished with pudding. This place is amazing but the real star of the show is the staff. After Jorge we met Adrian and Thuram who are also amazing and we spent many a late night talking about Cuba and the UK. The cleaning staff and cooks greeted us with big welcoming smiles everyday. The fabulous staff treated us like family and took our holiday to a whole new level. Thank you for an amazing time. "

"The hotel is so pretty and we’re obsessed with the decor and vibe. Everyone at the hotel is so friendly. Being first time in cuba, I’m glad we stayed here. There’s always someone in the hotel in case we need any information about anything, everyone speaks English which us a plus for us. They even took the initiative to reach out to inform us about what we need to know about cuba which is every helpful. Definitely will stay here again when we’re back. "

"Excellent location in the heart of old Havana, and is walking distance to most of old city sights. The surroundings may not to be everyone’s taste , but that is a Havana issue a not the property’s. Staff very friendly and helpful with excellent breakfasts. "

"I came to Cuba with low expectations due to the country's well known economic and infrastructure problems. The entire staff at Alhabana exceeded my wildest dreams. Every team member went above and beyond to make sure that our group of 6 people were well taken care of. They answered all of our questions, arranged tours and taxi rides, gave excellent restaurant recommendations, cleaned our rooms perfectly and prepared great breakfast foods. The Alhabana also has generator power to mitigate the effects of the scheduled daily power outages. The only minor issue is that the water pressure and temperature can be lacking at times. For people with a full head of hair (not me) it could be challenging. However, if it were a problem, I have no doubt that the staff could solve it for you. The surrounding neighborhood, like every other neighborhood in Havana, is noisy and dirty. There's absolutely nothing that Alhabana can do about it. The location is perfect. You can walk a couple of miles, or take a taxi, in any direction to see a huge amount of what Havana has to offer. I would not hesitate to stay here again. "

"Great hotel, very spacious rooms, lovely roof top restaurant and bar overlooking the cruise terminal. Easy walking distance to all the main attractions in and around Old Havana. Book your classic car tour with hotel and any tours that take your fancy. The staff are outstanding and helpful. "

"All I can say is wow, wow, wow! I have traveled to many places across the world and I have never received better service than I received at VOYA boutique hotel. The staff and their attention to detail is what elevated this trip. Every single day that we were there, we entered to find handwritten notes, fresh flowers, and treats. It was my boyfriend‘s birthday while we were there. I only mentioned it once, but they remembered and actually had an artist with a mini saxophone play a special tribute to him. This is what I mean by top-notch customer service and attention to detail. I also want to acknowledge the extra touches like waiting until we entered our transportation before walking away from the door and being there when we arrived home…it made it feel like home. It felt like a caring mom waiting to make sure that you made it safely inside. On the night before we were scheduled to leave, the staff called us to inform us that they noticed that we didn’t need to leave the hotel until about 1 PM to catch our flight. They gave us a complimentary late check out without us even asking and a fresh set of red roses. VOYA was hands-down the best part of our trip. I will return to Cuba because of the service that I received from the staff."

"We landed in Cuba during an island-wide power outage. No problem . . . . the entire staff made extra efforts to make our stay terriifc. Jorge and Eveline are stars for Art Studio. Can't recommend a place more in Havana Vieja. "

"Superghost... Although we arrived late in the evening, they managed to give us a sandwich grilled. Superquiet. Ecvellent breakfast, eggs, fruit, jam, bread, coffee.... "

"Christian, the manager, was delightful and went above and beyond to be helpful throughout our stay. His English was very good and he was very thoughtful A qualified doctor, he also aided my daughter with sunburn and tummy trouble. The hotel has a lovely courtyard where delicious breakfasts are served. We had the double height, triple room at the front of the property which was a beautiful characterful room however the only window opened out straight on to the street which meant a lot of noise and no privacy so recommend any of the other rooms would be preferrable"
