We book this area for a stay with my daughter for competition cheer. Our coach hashad 20 years of coaching and never seen them cancel. So when we booked and didn’t get the insurance . They ended up in a state of emergency. I contacted Expedia and the host to see if we were able to switch the date for the next day. I put in many phone calls and several emails that went back-and-forth. I was told several different things by several different people. I was in contact with the host and she did not want to refund us or switch our dates for another time, even though everybody was getting refunded because of the condition. We called her 3 times and she would only email. I am now waiting for a callback because I purchased under a buyers assurance tab. I asked them about extenuating circumstances and they told me that the state had to approve that but he had no idea if they contacted the state or vice versa. The Expedia customer service representative told me it was common sense to know if they could see if the host had availability or not. How am I to know that they are not able to see when I host the properties calendar is available. I would assume that they could, but apparently I lack the common sense to know that they cannot. They escalated our claim several times but now we’re a part of a different team that was supposed to contact us immediately and it has been over a day & we haven’t heard anything so I guess I still might be out
