"The hotel is on the edge of the city center and only 2 blocks from the ocean. You would have to walk about 20 minutes for a small beach or drive 20 for a nicer beach. "The house is located higher above a smaller local beach (which never got busy) and afforded great views over the area. Whilst the house is lovely, the outdoor space really sets the accommodation apart. There are a number of different veranda’s and seating areas which allow the outdoors to be utilised throughout the day. We loved it. We explored the East of the island, and the house location proved to work really well for that. We would not hesitate to return. Many thanks."

"Property was well situated, clean and roomy. Owner answered our questions and helped find us to bring in luggage as it was hard to find parking in front to unload suitcases. Parking was 3 Euro paid at a lot which was a 10 minute walk which we knew before renting and also lacking in-suite laundry are the only downsides. "

"We had a wonderful stay at the Rafkos mansion. Stelios the owner took us wherever we needed to go and we had delicious meals at one of the local restaurants. It would be wise to have a car because it’s in a village about 30mins. from Heraklion. Stelios is the definition of Greek hospitality! "

"Property seems very kid friendly, which is nice, but as we did not bring our children this trip, it was loud and overwhelming with kids running all over. Often difficult to get spots at the pool as well. We almost decided to go next door to the Nana Princess instead. Food was pretty good. Facilities have plumbing issues given the smells in the bathroom. Was not pleasant. Good value but not luxury. Live and learn"
