Welcome to my little escape.
*Recent upgrades: new deck front and rear, new slate floor with in floor heat, new carpet, new bedding and curtains*
The 960sf chalet style cabin is just past the town of Greenwater (last stop for gas, general store, and cafe) en route to Crystal Mountain. You are walking distance to the Crystal River Ranch clubhouse which has a playground, games, and my kids’ favorite: air hockey.
The development is a great place for young bikers to explore with minimal traffic and flat roads. There is access to the rivers via the picnic site (no fishing, stony, dangerous, but beautiful).
The cabin has 1 bedroom with a queen bed on main floor and a large open rafter loft with a king and two twin beds. The beds are comfortable. The skylights let in some light and are openable.
The propane stove does a nice job and sets the mood. The laundry room is by the front door, a good place to stash ski gear and pop it right in the dryer. Six people is the maximum, with one small bathroom, four or five people is comfortable.
The cabin is modest. I find the simplicity refreshing, and we come out here to be in nature, right? I will leave my local hiking book there, a list of my favorites, and WAshington Trails Association is my go-to resource for hikes, providing all the info and recent trip reports.
You can beat the traffic and be at the mountain in 15 minutes or so. Careful for ice on the road early in the morning. Internet is there to help you get the latest weather info and stay in touch with friends, as cell service is spotty. Apple TV is connected to the 43inch TV.
Elk are often in the yard. Respect these massive creatures by keeping your distance.
