"The mixed gender outdoor hot spring with swim wear provided was excellent. Our room had a mini zen garden inside, and we fell asleep to the sound of the river behind the hotel. A great place to relax and spend the night after exploring Kurodake ropeway and the surrounding portion of Daisetsuzan National Park."

"Dated hotel, as are all the hotels in the area, but very well maintained. Staff were all superb and the food service was very efficient and tasty. Not Michelin starred, but neither is the cost. "

"This was such a treat of a hostel, and for a great price too. Really no complaints about the hostel itself, but be sure to know what you are getting into when you book. Bathing is done via an on-site onsen that is open from 7pm to 9am. If you are used to onsens this won't be a problem, but watch out if you've never used one before as it is a different experience. There is also nearly nothing going on in the area surrounding the hostel, so be sure to bring food with you from whatever city you are coming from as there is no convenience store, market, and only 1 restaurant within 30 miles. If climbing mount asahidake and knowing what you are getting into, this hostel is AMAZING!"

Souvenir shop has lots of Hokkaido related items. We can even observed deers in the wild. 3 big Onsen bath with excellent views. Due to very remote position, better to have self drive to for better access. "
