We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the UniquEly cottages. We rented out two cottages for the weekend and were able to bring our two small dogs and 1 year old baby while our in laws stayed in the other. My first thought upon arrival was how clean the cottages were. They were also more spacious than I anticipated. They had everything we needed and the property manager was super responsive and accommodating. Very close to town, hikes, and the wolf center. Highly recommend!!
We lived the location being so central to The International Wolf Center, American Bear Center, National Superior Forest, coffee shops, restaurants & quick convenience stores. The mini home was in good condition & clean. The beds were okay & bathroom was a bit tiny thou it was fine. Loved that the Log Cabin Coffee was across the street for quick yummy brews + quick service. The communication from host was great & clear. Having a TV/internet was nice with having my young kids with me for so quite time. It was a nice mix of up north vacation without worrying with bears being right outside the house. Thou there was very cute 3 deer whom visited the street every early morning!
We were very happy for the most part with our stay. We do have some suggestions. There was no bar or liquid hand soap in the bathroom, only bath liquid soap. We bought our own. The waste basket liners were of such poor quality that the first one broke, and we ended up getting our own to avoid a huge mess. The refrigerator lacks covers over the vegetable drawers, and the shelves on the door were taped in place and kept falling out. The blinds in the living room and one of the bedrooms were broken, and we were unable to open or close them. The doors hinges are squeaky and could use WD-40. The freezer could use some ice trays, since the auto ice maker does not exist or doesn’t work. This may sound picky, but I am used to having things fixed when they are broken. My husband is very handy , as was my dad. We would definitely use this property again, and hope that we can visit in the future. We appreciated the recommendations for restaurants and things to do. Thank you for transferring us to a better unit at the last minute.
