Excelent place to start day tours. We used the canoe every day. Tiffany is a great host serving a delicious breakfast which varies every day. Soon we felt like home and had much choices to spend relaxing time in the living room, the decks and the garden. The cosy bed had a very good mattress.

Beautiful Blue Heron B&B
Indoors and outdoors, everything about the Blue Heron B&B is just gorgeous! With easy access to the Boundary Waters, the Blue Heron is the perfect location for canoeing and kayaking. Tiffany and Chad are wonderful hosts, and Tiffany's breakfasts are delicious. Make sure you bring 100% Deet bug spray to ward off the mosquitoes!

Friendly, comfortable, and terrific!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Blue Heron and will book here again if we return. Tiffany had helpful recommendations about restaurants, outfitters, and hiking trails. Her breakfasts were outstanding -- not just yummy but beautiful -- and she accommodated some dietary restrictions in our group with ease. (We let her know before we arrived.) The common space was great for hanging out. It was really nice to be able to borrow a canoe or kayak and go out for an hour or so as opposed to renting canoes from someone in town. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a firm mattress and plenty of blankets. We also really enjoyed talking to the other guests at breakfast and around the firepit in the evenings. This is really top notch!

Tiffany is a great fit to run this bed and breakfast. It was our first stay in a bed and breakfast and she made it very comfortable and enjoyable. This lake property has kayaks, a fire pit, and a very peaceful setting. We loved sitting on the deck right outside our room in the evening. In the morning, an excellent breakfast was served. We highly recommend to give Blue Heron a try. Great find.

Blue Heron is a piece of paradise
We could not have chosen a more perfect place for our unexpected stay in Ely. The Blue Heron was spectacular. Tiffany was a super host. They provide complimentary canoes for guests to go out into the boundary waters which you can access right from the B&B. That adventure in itself was magnificent. It was such a peaceful place. When we arrived back to Blue Heron, we enjoyed great company visiting and laughing by the fire. We stayed in the This and That room. It was amazing. The bed was super comfortable. There was a daybed in the second room for extra guest. I will definitely be returning. Next time we are going to experience Minnesota in the winter. Can't wait to see our new friends, Tiffany and Chad, again. Thanks for being such a great host and sharing your piece of paradise with us.

This was the perfect place for a two day family getaway. Tiffany was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. My only criticism is perhaps have a couple grills and more refrigerator space for guest use. With that being said, Tiffany was great about letting us use their personal grill.

Beautiful place right on the edge of the BWCA!
The Blue Heron is an awesome B&B sitting right on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Tiffany was an excellent host and we also had the pleasure of meeting her parents, who were visiting and helping out. The rooms and the common area was very comfortable and the breakfasts were very good. My only disappointment was the condition of the canoes, which are free to use. None of the canoes had portage pads and the best canoe had no usable front seat. This was a minor inconvenience and we still managed to spend a long day in the beautiful BWCA! Thanks for a great time Tiffany and my wife says "Your mom is the bomb!"

Great, out of the way yet close to Ely attractions, quiet B&B with very nice host. Free use of canoes and kayaks was a big plus. A little earlier breakfast would be nice for those who like to make the most of their vacation time. First on our list of places to stay when spending time in the Ely area.
