"We found the property clean but lacking, certainly not "Superb". The decor was sparse e.g. bare light bulbs. Negatives Bathroom: no mirror, no towel rails, only one hand towel in the property for three. Kitchen: Two sets of knives & forks for three, no large glasses or wine glasses, no fire blanket/extinguisher, no downstairs smoke alarm I could spot. "Pros: Really good communication from host. Decorated nicely. Log burner (extra charge if using hosts logs). Milk in fridge. 8 minutes drive to Beamish museum. 4 minutes drive to a really good play park and splash area, by the river. Comfy beds and bedding. The accommodation was really clean. Shower heats up quick, large shower head. Dog bowls and biscuit treats - nice extra. Cons: Oven was broken by previous guest (on request, host was really good at providing air fryers). "The house is clean in the main areas that you need i.e. clean sheets and towels. However, it needs a good deep clean between the gaps of the couch, 'stuff' under the foot stool when moved, mold near the hand basin, bubbling above shower, dishes/cutlery needing a good wash. A fan in summer would have been helpful and had to chase the host for check-in details. Photos are better than what is actually is and could do with some maintenance and tlc."

"Fabulous stay in this unique folly! it was lovely to see the sea and horses from the windows each day and there was plenty of activities to keep the children entertained close by - especially finding sea glass treasure on the local beaches."

5 star touches.

"The staff were outstanding. It could of been a 5 star hotel. The gent on recreation offered to carry bags. Advised on the local area. Asked how we were and about our day. There was even an Easter delivery to the room. Unexpected but very lovely. All the staff went above and beyond here. Thank you for the most pleasant and happy stay at a hotel in a very long time."

"I did a last minute booking as I was kicked out from the other inn having they over sold their rooms. Since the late booking, it hasn’t gone through the system, there was a trouble in checking in. Luckily, a male college join in later and helped me to sort out the issue and finally I got a room to stay! "
