The villa needed updating, it could be a lovely villa. Finding the villa was an absolute nightmare, they should consider using the App Just Three Words. Problems we encountered were, the shower in upstairs apartment was useless, it had the wrong wall fixing, so had to be handheld. The barbecue area had not been cleaned at all. The outside furniture hadn’t been cleaned. One of the beds on ground floor wasn’t fit for purpose, 2 single mattresses placed on a base that was too small.
We accept that lawns had to be mowed but the owner (who lived next door) had obviously planned maintenance for the trees in both properties knowing full well that the noise and disruption would mean we couldn’t sit outside or use the pool, we had to leave the property because of the noise and dust for several hours on 3 separate occasions. In the final week there was a problem with the swimming pool and we couldn’t use it for several days. Lastly we had an additional problem with cockroaches coming into the house, we were assured that this is a possibility in a Mediterranean area, however in 20 years renting villas in Spain it’s the first time we have encountered a problem.
