Lakefront Glamping Tent with an ensuite bathroom, a Fabulous View, near Acadia

Glamping Downeast- Relax, unwind, and recharge after exploring Acadia in a luxury Glamping Tent with an en-suite bathroom (with a real flush toilet!) located in the heart of Downeast Maine. Glamping Downeast offers the perfect mix of luxury, nature, and a fabulous view. You will feel like you are a million miles away yet we are only 15 minutes from civilization; conveniently located just 10 miles from historic Ellsworth (the gateway to Acadia) and another 18 miles from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Here are some things that you might find important:

- The View - The Glamping Tent's deck offers a fantastic view of the Lake and the woods. And on a clear day you can see Cadillac Mountain from the deck.

- The Bathroom - The Glamping Tent has an ensuite bathroom with hot water and a real flush toilet. And the enclosed (private) outdoor shower is nestled under the tent's awning.

-The Location - We are close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor yet far enough away to avoid the crowds, traffic, and noise. Our Glamping Camps are deep in the woods on our seven acre private property, not in a campground or "Glamping Resort." We have only three glamping camps on our property; our Glamping Tent, a Tiny House A-Frame Cabin (VRBO #2522475), and a Vintage Airstream (VRBO #2347814).

Some other things to note:

The Glamping Tent features a king bed with a real king mattress, crisp, clean sheets, and cozy duvets.

The Glamping Tent has a mini fridge and a Keurig coffee maker (with an assortment of K-cups) so you can enjoy coffee in the morning and cold drinks in the evening on the deck without having to leave the tent.

The outdoor kitchen, which is in a common area, features a gas grill, a separate stovetop, and a microwave. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and drinking water is available in the outdoor kitchen. We provide basic pots, pans and cooking utensils and plates, cups, and eating utensils. The outdoor kitchen's refrigerator is stocked with condiments and essentials and the ingredients for S'Mores.

The campfire ring with comfortable Adirondack chairs is adjacent to the outdoor kitchen area. There is no need to bring or buy firewood, we have plenty.

The road in to our property is a half mile camp road that takes you deep into the woods. No traffic, no noise, just seclusion, quiet, trees, and the beautiful lake.

Please note that the Glamping Tent is about 250 feet down a gravel path from the parking area (and just steps from the edge of the lake) so you cannot park right next to the tent. We have a luggage cart/wagon available if needed.

We do not allow animals of any kind. It is a safety issue. There is a risk of an extreme interaction with wildlife in the area (particularly with dogs).

***Glamping Downeast is in Maine's great outdoors so be prepared to accept the inherent risk of your adventure including wildlife, insects, and unpredictable conditions (we can’t control weather). Come with an adventurous and open mind, and some bug spray.

Well worth it
Lee and Peg were incredible hosts. Kind, friendly and helpful! The tent was clean and tidy. The view of the lake was much better in person too. Peg was kind enough to point out a cluster of Indian Ghost Pipe, a fascinating plant growing in the wood just outside the tent. Lee gave a brief natural history of the site, advice on how best to see Acadia, and was quick to address any requests we had. Their advice on Acadia was tremendously helpful and we were able to beat the crowds and do some incredible hikes. We heard Barred owls calling at night and watched a myriad of birds dance around the lake. While the hosts were helpful and friendly we still enjoyed plenty of the private alone time we had come for. Lovely experience. Glamping to the max, well worth the money.

Successful Glamping Adventure
Lee has hit the jackpot with his glamping site. The tent was plenty big of enough for my spouse and I, bed was comfortable, space heater kept us warm when the nights got cooler, and the bathroom was very clean. The outdoor shower had hot water and a view! Lee greeted us as soon as we pulled in and was available anytime we needed him throughout our stay. His recommendations and advice were spot on too! The glamping site was the perfect location for us. Close enough to go into Bar Harbor and Acadia for the day, and just down the road to enjoy dinner and ice cream in Ellsworth. Yet still keeping the feeling of being in the middle of the woods to enjoy the camping side of our stay. We can’t wait to make the 10 hour drive back up to stay here again!

Perfect romantic escape
This rural stay in the woods of Ellsworth, Maine was the perfect escape for my husband and I to celebrate our anniversary. The location was in a rural spot next to a gorgeous pond and we even spotted a Bald Eagle right upon arrival! It was about 45 min drive to the sights we wanted to visit in Bar Harbor and Acadia which was perhaps a bit further than ideal but for what we wanted in a getaway, it was worth it! Lee greeted us immediately upon arrival and was so relaxed and friendly he made us feel at home and at ease right away. He showed us how to work everything with ease and the onsite kitchen area too. Lee & Peg stay on the same property which helped us feel safe in case we needed anything or if anything happened, but they completely respect your space and privacy for the whole of the visit. The tent itself was bigger than I imagined and I was worried it would be too cold as we came at the end of September. But it had a heater that warmed the whole tent so fast we even had to shut it off a few times! Everything was super super clean which I am a stickler about and was very impressed by. The bed was SO comfortable. Only downside was while my husband had a warm shower, mine only lasted a minute or two— but I think that was really our doing in the end because we took them at the end of the day so the hot water may have run out by that point. Really, we had a wonderful stay here overall and would highly recommend it!

Glamping trip to Acadia
My husband and I stayed here during our trip to Acadia! We wanted a camping feel but didn’t have any of our camping gear with us. This was the perfect compromise! The tent was very clean and spacious. The bathroom with a flushing toilet and running water was very nice to have. The shower is outside over looking the lake. There are some trees in front so it’s fairly private. The bed was very comfortable. We stayed in early October and were a little worried about being cold but the heater in the tent kept us very warm and was easy to use. The community area with the kitchen and fire ring were well stocked. The campsite is about 45 minutes to the entrance to Acadia and about an hour to the top of Cadillac Mountain if you are going to watch the sunrise like us. It’s not a bad drive and you pass a Walmart if you need food/supplies. There is also a mini fridge/freezer and a keurig coffee machine in the tent. Lee was very easy to get in contact with if we had any questions and made the check in process easy. Lee even had a fire set up and ready to go when we got back from the park that evening! Overall we had a great time glamping and enjoyed our stay!

The glamping site was well appointed, clean and peaceful. The view from the deck was wonderful and adirondak chairs perfect for morning coffee. The outdoor shower was hot, private and right at the tent. The camp kitchen had all you would need to make a meal includung condiments. And camp fire necesseities were also provided including smore ingredients! It was exactly what we were looking for!
