Exceeded our expectations!!!!
We had a wonderful week at the Lazy Bear. 8 family members. The drive to the cabin was spectacular. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle, but not too far away this is the perfect cabin. The mountain view is fantastic. Can’t say enough good things about this cabin. Thank you Joe for sharing this mountain paradise with our family.

Great weekend get away
The property was great for a weekend stay of my family. The spaces were perfect for us each to have our own space, but the big common area was nice for us to have time together. The one down side was there was rain leading up to our stay and the gravel road had a significant recess so it looked like a huge puddle that we weren't sure that we would get through. Thankfully not very deep. Definitely would recommend this to others.

Memorable vacay
We liked everything about this property and because we had good weather, we especially enjoyed the large wrap around deck! There are rocking chairs to enjoy the view and a large outdoor couch where we could watch TV and have a glass of wine. The kitchen was very well stocked and the mattresses were comfortable. Our host, Joe, was easy to contact and helpful with our questions. Would recommend this property.

Husband’s 60th birthday bash
We have stayed at many VRBO cabins, but this one far surpasses all of the others! The location, layout, view, outdoor seating, and the new owner Joe made this vacation even better than we could have imagined. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was fully stocked and there were plenty of fluffy towels and provisions to do laundry. Joe was very responsive to any questions we had and made it clear that he was always available. We can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful cabin
The cabin was beautiful, but not maintained very well. One of the features of the cabin we were most interested in was the outdoor fireplace. Unfortunately it didn’t work. Host said he was going to call the gas company but never heard anything else about it. The shower for the master bedroom was disgusting as it was covered in mold and mildew and the downstairs shower had hair in it. The host did issue a partial refund. There was no sanitizer for the hot tub and judging by the shower we skipped it altogether. Overall, for the price point I was extremely disappointed and had I not had family coming to stay I would have checked out, but we were all several hours from home with no alternate accommodations so we made the best of our time there.

What a view!
The 6 of us totally enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, spacious mountain retreat! With 4 bedrooms, everyone had their privacy and could watch the sun rise and set from any of the 3 porches. The hot tub was a bonus at the end of a day of hiking or exploring the area.Our host, Joe, was extremely helpful with suggestions for things to see and do while in Ellijay. He even checked in during the week to make sure everything was in order. All in all, we couldn't have been more pleased.

What a peaceful spot to relax and observe the wildlife :) We all loved the wonderful deck and the fantastic view. Had great weather so enjoyed sitting on the couch drinking wine and watching the big screen TV. The kitchen is well provisioned with pots, pans, cooking utensils, spices, ziplock bags, etc. We all thought that the mattresses were quite comfortable. Our host, Joe, was very helpful when we had any questions. Would definitely recommend this lovely large cabin.

We have rented multiple cabins on VRBO and this was the nicest by far. Joe was a pleasure to deal with and being a new owner, clearly cared about his guests having the best experience possible. The cabin was beautiful, laid out well, had amazing views and the outside areas on the deck led us to spend each night at home, enjoying the views and the company. The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of detergent , ziploc bags, saran wrap, and tin foil, etc- something most cabins lack. It was a memorable weekend and we can’t wait to come back!

Spectacular View
My husband and I booked the cabin to take our 15 year old daughter to the mountains for spring break. We are from Florida, and we visited Blue Ridge last year, so we decided to stay in Ellijay this year. The cabin was amazing! Comfy beds, TVs in every room, and great outdoor space with comfy couch, TV, and fireplace. We had a great time in the area, and my daughter loved having her own space during our stay. The cabin was well stocked, and all we needed was food and fire wood for the fire pit. Since we are used to flat land in Florida, it was a little scary driving in the rain on the roads leading to the cabin, but I became a pro within a few days. I noticed that someone else mentioned this, and I wish I had seen it before I made this mistake, but please do not take a right out of the cabin. There is no road, and I was not able to turn around. I thought my car was going off the cliff. It was terrifying, and I'm not sure why my GPS sent me that way. This was the only snag in our vacation. It was an absolutely fantastic getaway, and we highly recommend staying here. We will be back.

Beautiful view
It was a very peaceful place to be up in the mountains. Cabin was beautiful and spacious. The only bad thing is the road to the house, you'll need a SUV or truck to get there. Overall we love it.

Relaxed friends stay
Our group of 5 enjoyed our stay at Lazy Bear. It was a low key relaxing visit. Just what we needed. The view off the rear deck is wonderful once the skies cooperated. The sunrise was amazing. The beds were comfortable, had lots of blankets (it turned cold on us) and was well appointed. The owner Christa reached out about 2 weeks before our stay to coordinate our stay. We didn't need anything during the stay but it was great to know help would be there if we needed anything. Our group has been coming to the Ellijay area for more than a decade and we will definitely keep this house in the rotation. Please come from Ellijay ( south) ( and exit to the left only no matter what maps says) one friend came from the north and we are literally grateful he made it. It really shouldn't be labeled as a road.

Every detail considered
Wow! What more could you ask for! Amazing communication from the owners from the moment we rented. The house itself is absotutely beautiful. Often pictures online are taken at perfect angles and the actual rental is not as amazing- this is NOT the case. Beautiful my furnished and decorated, quality comfortable beds and linens, stunning views! Even the coffee pot is well thought out- offering the ability to use regular drip coffee or coffee pods. We enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return to this amazing property.
