Search 279631 for our Pondside cabin. Please note that we have a surveillance camera which hangs on the edge of the roof of our garage. It only records what is in the driveway. this is for your safety and ours.

Forest Cabins of Ellijay is set on 6 acres of pristine old-growth forest of hardwoods and huge white pines. The acreage is bordered by about 900 feet of Clear Creek. Clear Creek is about 20 feet wide . And you have a lovely view of the rushing trout stream. Sit on the covered porch and listen to the pileated woodpeckers, babbling stream, crickets, frogs and lake loons. Most visitors will spot deer taking advantage of the creek or a blue heron fishing for supper.

When you’re ready to stretch your legs, lace up your hiking boots for a trek along the Tumbling Waters Trail, an easy 1-mile out-and-back hike that meanders through the forest in the Ridgeway Recreation Area at Carters Lake and across a wooden bridge to a series of waterfalls on Tails Creek. More adventurous souls may want to explore the Cohutta Wilderness Area, which boasts 13 trails totaling more than 87 miles of remote, often rugged hiking through the Cohutta Mountains, Georgia’s portion of the Smoky Mountain range.

Designate Go Wine! Tours as your transportation for the day, or plan your own self-guided tour, starting with an afternoon at Ellijay River Vineyards. Here, you can sample wine in a small barn on-site, but the real appeal is buying a bottle to enjoy at the river bend, where Adirondack chairs, swings and a fire pit make for a picturesque picnic spot. For a more traditional tasting room experience, kick back with killer mountain views at Ott Farms & Vineyard, or cozy up by the roaring fire at Cartecay Vineyards, both of which offer live entertainment, light bites and often food trucks on the weekends.

Gaze at the millions of sparkling stars. Forget your work-a-day world and relax in the comfort of your little piece of heaven nestled in the Appalachian Mountains. Lounging in your wooden swing on the porch sipping your morning coffee to the tune of Cardinals, titmice, nuthatch, and other songbirds. The tree frogs are cacophonous.

After your morning adventures, head back to River Street Tavern for a burger made with local beef from nearby Bear Creek Cattle Co. and a cold craft beer. Next, hop over to MooBears Ice Cream for a sweet hand-dipped treat….Some of our favorite places.

The Perfect Getaway
The owners were lovely & super friendly. The cabin was quaint & minimalistic but that just added to the rustic charm. Awesome hiking & winery within 2 miles of the cabin. We definitely will be back to this little cabin on the creek.

A Little Piece of Heaven
If you’re looking for a place to wind down and relax, this is it! Jim and Sally, our hosts, were so welcoming and friendly, and the cabin was comfortable and cozy. We loved sitting by the fire each night; sleeping to the sound of the running creek; and waking each morning and sitting on the front porch with a cup of warm coffee while taking in the beautiful scenery.

Tiny cabin on the creek
We fully enjoyed our stay and plan to visit again. The cabin is very small and rustic. Great location and not far from town yet you feel like your way out in the country which was exactly what we were looking for. The best part was the back deck overlooking the creek. If your looking for fancy, move on. Jim and Sally were wonderful hosts. If your looking for easy, peace and quiet, it’s a 5 star!

Charming cabin, perfect weekend getaway!
We had a great time in this tiny house. The view over the river is gorgeous, and the house has just enough space for two to be comfortable and cozy. We made delicious breakfast both mornings and found the kitchen perfectly suited for our needs. We went to a beautiful wedding just down the road and then for a great hike the next morning. Jim and Sally even went out of their way to mail me back a pair of jeans I forgot and left behind, which was so so nice of them.

Weekend Getaway
It was nice, but very small. The access to the stream was tough as well as to the cabin. We were really hoping to catch some fish, but it didn't appear to be a stocking stream.

great time!
We had a great time staying in Ellijah. The tiny cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. It was a cold weekend for this Florida couple but having a fire in the fireplace warmed up the cabin and made it cozy. The creek was beautiful. Jim and Sally were very nice. My husband enjoyed talking hunting stories with Jim. Thanks! Keith and Cindy

Peaceful!
We loved our stay at the tiny-house forest cabin. It was a great way to unwind from city life. The cabin had everything we needed. Sally and Jim were excellent hosts and fun to talk to. We enjoyed the beautiful setting and the animals that passed by such as deer, heron's, cardinals, and some other unidentified cuties maybe a beaver. Lots of wonderful forest sounds along with the creek lulled us to sleep. We visited wineries and cider businesses. Tubing at the creek was fun too!

Wow!!!! Clean, relaxing atmosphere.
The minute I walked in the front door my mood went to calm and relaxed. Jim and Sally had really went out of their way to make my weekend special. The grounds where well kept and so was the cabin. The sound from the water alone made my blood pressure drop. I would recomend this place to anyone needing some down time. Thanks So much, Sherry and Carter

Nice scenery, small cabin
Owners were very nice, scenery was great, but the cabin was much smaller than I expected. It is the size of a studio apartment. The refrigerator is very small, but if (unlike us) you are planning to eat out a lot, this doesn't matter much. This cabin would be great for sightseers who were only planning on spending nights at the cabin (since fees are low and nightly rate is great). The rail spacing on the deck is plenty large enough for a small-ish 2 year old to fit through. I had to watch my then-16 month old daughter like I hawk whenever we were out there. I have absolutely nothing against the owners at all - I just wanted to give my version of the story that I felt provides details that other reviews have not yet provided.

Our heaven for 3 days!
We were so sorry we didn't get to meet you both! We really enjoyed your cabin/tiny house for the three days during Christmas! Our favorite parts were definitely the stream and fireplace. I can't get over how well you can hear the stream, and even opened the window at night (even though it was 30 outside) so I could hear it throughout the night. The comforter fools you into thinking you won't be warm at night, but my gosh that thing keeps every part of you nice & toasty! We went to the Walmart and got 7 bunches of firewood and used every bit of it when we stayed inside. It was a great fireplace!!!! We went to Mountain Valley Farm (which we had no idea was so close) and got some steaks for the grill, along with some of their home made cheese! Super yummy! We also took a ride to Amicalola Falls, which was beautiful...and another ride to Dahlonega to just putz around town. It was a great stay, and thank you for allowing us to enjoy your place!

Cabin was cozy and clean. The outside of the cabin was cute. The inside needed to have work done. The bathroom door stuck and was very noisy should you need to go to the bathroom. The bathroom shower was hard to adjust. The fireplace worked but was dated. The steep walk to and from the cabin needs to be paved or graveled. During the rain, we slipped and almost fell. The deck was nice and roomy. Location was convenient to downtown Ellijay, restaurants, and wineries. Didn't have bad time as we were out a lot. I decided to write this review as the reviews I based my trip on were all 5's for the most part. I use reviews to plan my trip. If I had know some of the issues above, I might have looked further. My husband and I are 66 and 78 and the trail to the cabin was daunting to us as it was steep and full of roots.
