Great Vacation Cabin
We stayed at the Cartecay River House recently and were happy with the property. It was spacious and we were very happy with how clean the property was. It had a great deck to relax and enjoy the view of the river. We would definitely rent this property again!

Relaxing Getaway
We really enjoyed the relaxation. Being on the river & relaxing in the hot tub was perfect. My husband and I enjoyed the long weekend my our three children & both sets of parents. Cabin was stocked with EVERYTHING you need. Just pack clothes food & enjoy. Thank you, The Whites, Paynes & Roudebushs

Beautiful property inside and out!
We chose the house for the convenient location to Ellijay and the ability to be right on the Cartecay River. The location did not disappoint as the house is only about 3 miles from town. The interior of the cabin is beautiful and very cozy. The cabin was well equipped with kitchen necessities and lines/towels. Cabin is well built and very quiet. We highly recommend and plan to return. Thank you!

Have rented this house for the past 16 years on this date. House is more expensive then surrounding houses. May look into other houses on the same street due to the price next year, but would come back.

Great location and beautiful home!!
This was the perfect getaway for our family. We had 5 adults and 5 children with plenty of room. The sand area outside was prefect for the kids to play in. The location is very convenient yet you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The only negative thing any of our family had to say was the outside furniture did smell like a wet dog with lots of hair on it but it certainly did not ruin our time. We will book again definitely!!!!

Refreshing: Clean, Comfy, and EASY River Access!
Our family has stayed in multiple rentals in over 10 trips to the North GA mountains. Tubing and chillin' on the Cartecay River is the draw for us, and the thoughtful, safe river access of this home (steps with railings) are the best we've experienced. Young children and grandparents alike are OK entering the river here where the river bottom is smooth and easy to navigate.We were struck at how clean this home was--starting with the decks and outdoor furniture and hot tub. (And they change the hot tub water after each rental, wow!)Four king beds were sturdy with amazing mattresses. Great for deep sleep after a day at the river. The appliances (refrigerator, washer and dryer, oven) seem new and everything works! Kathy, the local property manager, was very kind and responsive to our (few) questions. We hope to make this our Ellijay hone for summers to come!

We love this river house
This is our third stay and we will be back again! All the bedrooms are very comfortable and the amenities are plentiful. You can’t beat this spot on the river. Our children have a blast tubing and swimming. The adults love winding down the day in the hot tub. The owner is very nice and responsive to whatever we need. This one is a gem for sure!

Clean and Inviting!
First time staying at this property and it did not disappoint. Upon walking in felt very inviting and relaxing. Enjoyed all the amenities … tubes available to use in the river, cornhole/bags were fun, also enjoyed the pool table, shuffleboard, arcade game, hot tub, and the back deck is fantastic! That was our favorite space. Washer dryer seemed brand new. All 7 of us slept well and felt right at home.Home is located in a nice quiet area only 10 minutes from grocery shopping. You’d never know you’re that close to town. One of our trips back to the house we saw a bear in the woods very near the home! Also saw deer across the river nibbling on plants.Lots to do in the area. Many great restaurants close by (River Street Tavern, The Roof); explored Blue Ridge (2nd Story Entertainment minigolf, Southern Charm, shops); Amicalola Falls and a day trip to the Georgia Aquarium (whale sharks & manta rays!!). But our favorite thing to do was sit on the back deck and enjoy the scenery and family time ❤️ We have stayed at several different properties over the years in different states. You won’t regret staying at this one. Would definitely come back!!

Floated the river, rinsed off and hit the hot tub everyday. We don’t usually do the same property twice, but we might have to hit this one again! Awesome and communicative owners with great suggestions for activities in Ellijay. Lovely people.

Wonderful Family Getaway
This is our 3rd year staying in the home and it was still just as nice as the first time. Kathy is always kind and very responsive. The home is prefect for our 10 people. Kitchen is stocked well for all of our cooking needs.

Amazing River House!
We just left the Cartecay River House and had an absolute amazing time. We stayed for 6 nights which was perfect for our group of 9. The house had ample sleeping room and the way the home was set up our three groups each had their own floor to themselves at night. Everything was well thought out and very clean. We enjoyed white water rafting on the Ocoee (45 min away), pontoon boat rental on lake blue ridge (30 min away), zip lining in blue ridge and of course hanging out on the Cartecay River. We anchored some connected tubes in front of the property to chill out and take it easy but when we wanted to float we drove a mile down the road to the canoe launch and floated an hour back to the house. We will definitely consider coming back next year. Thank you Kathy for being so attentive and for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

Peaceful retreat, great location.
The Cartecay River House was the peaceful retreat our families needed. There was plenty of space for 4 adults and 6 children, all under 10 years old. The sound of the river was what we all neeeded to relax and realign with nature. With young children, the close proximity to town and the short drive to Amicalola Falls was just right. And, the bedding was dreamy. We hope to come back soon!

We had family from around the Atlanta area and me from Florida. It was a beautiful home with plenty of space. The king beds in 4 of the bedrooms was great and comfortable. The crystal clear river was so peaceful. we will be back.

Definitely a 5 Star Experience!
A group of my friends and I stayed in this lovely cabin for our annual fall leaf trip. The cabin was absolutely amazing. VERY clean. Communication from the owner was excellent. I'm not one to like phone calls, so I was delighted that she was a texter :) Had an issue with the fireplace in the den, so we contacted her and she had someone come over to fix it right away. There was plenty of room for our group of 6. Originally there was going to be 8 of us, and we still would have had lots of room. Lots of nice touches - basket of snacks on the counter to greet us when we arrived, ice already in the freezer, washer and dryer with laundry detergent provided, an iron in the closet, hair dryer in the bathroom, extra blankets and pillows, wonderful furniture on the deck so you can sit out back and listen to the river as it rushes by...it was a wonderful experience. You will NOT be disappointed if you stay at this cabin. Several of us are already planning a vacation with our own families and want to stay there again. The ONLY suggestions I would have is to maybe label some of the light switches (there are a lot!) and have some extra batteries on hand for the remotes. 2 or 3 of them weren't working due to dead batteries. Very minor issues. Thank you for a fantastic experience..definitely 5 stars!!!
