Cozy cabin, close to many hiking trails. Cabin has everything you need. The bathroom is updated and the shower has nice water pressure. Everything was clean and was great having a large tv above the fireplace in both the living room and bedroom.
My husband and I came here for our anniversary trip and we had the best time. We cannot wait to come back! The cabin and river are absolutely beautiful. It was exactly what we needed.
I love this cabin! It’s such a great and well preserved original cabin, but also offers newer amenities like washer/dryer and AC. The deck overlooking the river is so great. You’ll find an extremely well equipped kitchen, fishing rods, firewood, river access, tons of towels, super nice hot tub, I could go on and on, they’ve thought of everything. I would definitely stay here again!
Expectations were exceeded in this beautiful, authentic cabin. The atmosphere was so cozy, we spent hours with the fire place going and doing puzzles. The hot tub was spotless and it was awesome relaxing in the tub while watching the ice float down the river. We would love to stay here again, possibly in the summertime!
Unfortunately, we only stayed the first night there due to my husband twisting his knee (same one from an old Air Force disability injury) and we had to return home for all of our adventures involved a lot of hiking and white water rafting.
:(
It was great. Had a nice time. Steps going to the bedrooms upstairs are a little sketchy. Could not have my father sleep up there, was too scared he would take a tumble down them. You literally have to put your feet sideways and hold onto the rail to make it down safely.
We had a fantastic stay this weekend. The house is very clean and cozy. We decided to stay home instead of hiking because the property was so lovely. We all enjoyed the super clean hot tub and the closeness of the river. I felt like we took a step back in time…. Perfect place to feel a bit of history while also watching the Super Bowl on a flat screen. I would recommend this property for all seasons. Also- our host was awesome- quick to respond and easy to communicate with :)
The cabin was in a nice secluded area, and very peaceful, beautiful place to be, but being an old home it had some areas which could use some fixing and upgrading. The kitchen and bathroom were upgraded, but the toilet had scalding hot water from the tank. We did ask about this, and were advised that they had to have hot water due to condensation issues, but being burned by scalding water splashing up on your nether regions was an issue. The screened in porch had numerous rips in the screens, and open cracks for bugs to enter. The living room was comfortable but very dark. A few table lamps would have taken care of this.. we did see that past reviews addressed this, but no lamps were added. We were there when indoor fires were not allowed, but burned logs had been left in the fireplaces leaving a heavy smoky odor that took over the cabin.
Over all we had a great time . Disappointed that there isn’t direct access to the river bank , shallow water for the kids. The steps off the deck were too dangerous for senior members of the group . No mention of not having air conditioning on the second floor . Hot tub was at 105 degrees . After fiddling around for half an hour we got it out of hold position and turned it down and enjoyed it . We ended up having firewood delivered because no matter what we tried , the wood provided would not burn . What we couldn’t take , we left , so who ever is after us should have a nice fire . The cabin was spotless and comfortable . Kitchen well equipped . Bathroom very nice although it’s odd to have a toilet that runs on hot water ! Toilet seat was always damp if the seat was left down . Probably nice in the winter , seats nice and warm 😁. Would have been nice to have access to a hose . Close to Elkins for shopping and eating . Definitely recommend . Lol! Also , the bed upstairs is very noisy as is the floor . Standing downstairs when someone is up there , sounds like they’re moving furniture . Anyway , thanks for a very nice long weekend .
Shower backed up immediately as well as the sink, bought some strong Drano ourselves and it cleared the clog. The toilet seat was always covered with condensation so we had to keep wiping it off. Could use some new bath towels and bed spread…little things like that could use a refresh. The upstairs is very creaky and feels unsafe to walk on and the steps are very dangerous. The porch needs all new screening and the screen doors are pretty old. The rest of the house is great, but could use a thorough cleaning. It was confusing as how to regulate the heat and the living room and kitchen were very cold. I do feel like most cabins we’ve stayed at tend to have the same issues and I understand a lot of people come and go and make messes, so I get it…and we did love the place. The view was amazing as well as the jacuzzi. The TVs are great and the furniture was nice as well as the bed.
I hope this review was not offensive…we loved the cabin, we know renters cause damage, just wanted to offer feedback so things can be easier on the owners too and make their cabin the best rental in the area. Even though we had some issues to list, we totally would come back again. We loved the bedroom the most! It was
huge and the fireplace was the best! The dining table area was so cute and nicely decorated. There could a better way to locate the property. It was so hard to find and there was no actual sign indicating the name of the cabin.
Tranquil and comfortable property in a beautiful setting. Amenities were as described and presented. Hostess was very gracious and kind. We hope to visit again soon!
Very peaceful and relaxing stay! We thoroughly enjoyed everything the cabin had to offer. Whether casting a line or just sitting on the deck, watching the wildlife and listening to the river, we had a wonderful time. We’re already talking about coming back next summer. Tiffany is an excellent host! Thank you for your hospitality.

It was okay
The cabin was okay but not what i was expecting. They call it a bedroom but the top floor is just split into two bedrooms when it's really one big one. There is no privacy upstairs for couples as the door and wall don't even go up to the ceiling. The door barely closes properly.
I went to get into the hot tub and there was dirt and a Gatorade bottle.
I did get ahold of the property owner and advise her of this. I did say not to send anyone out. I work cleaning cabins and hot tubs, so i cleaned it myself. Then i looked at the bag in the filter that catches all the big stuff and it was absolutely disgusting. Clumps of hair and bugs.
The hot tub was not cleaned prior to our arrival so i didn't get to use hot tub like i wanted too.
When you first go into place and turn the air conditioners on upstairs be very careful because the water drips down to the first floor right in front of the steps and front door. My cousin slipped and fell when he was taking his bags upstairs. We had to put a towel down. It only did it the first day though for about 30 mins.
I didn't report this to the property owner because honestly, I'm on vacation and can deal with minor inconvenience just so i can relax and not have to handle business however, the first time i contacted owner they were very quick to reply and apologize about the hot tub. So the communication was wonderful, no complaints.
The cabin had everything we needed, well stocked.

Our family of four had a super fun and relaxing time at the cabin. The setting is perfect. Quiet and beautiful on the river. The log cabin is awesome, and the hot tub and fire pit and deck were much enjoyed. The scenic mountain train ride out of Elkins is fun! Thank you for the great stay and for the easy communication with host.
Rustic is one thing. But the dimly lit, unusually narrow and attep stairs to the upstairs bedrooms was unsafe. The fire extinguisher in the kitchen was empty. We found 2 in a cabinet in the laundry room but, had there been a fire, it is unlikely we would have found them in an emergency. Lovely location,
