First, communication was bad. 10 minutes prior to check in, I had to text to find out check in directions. It was then that I was told the cleaners didn’t come and it would 3 more hours before it was ready. I understand stuff happens, but it would have been nice to know before the stated check in time and if I didn’t have to message again just to find out the actual address
I then received check in instructions/rules. One was no eating or drinking on the couch at all (even water). Which would have been nice to know before I booked because that feels very restrictive when you have a family, but regardless, we followed the rule and kept all food and drink in the kitchen.
Then 3 days afterwards, he claimed we left a stain on the couch and wanted to charge us extra for cleaning. I feel like this was an attempt to collect an extra fee, as I know we didn’t have anything on the couch (which honestly looked kind of dingy to begin with). But I feel this unusual “rule” should be disclosed way beforehand.
The house was nicely decorated, but definitely looked as though it could use a deep clean
At check out time, we didn’t get check out instructions until 1hour before the actual check out, so if we had left early, we would not have received them in time. Just kind of frustrating, imo. Also, kind of concerned about the check out rule of not taking the sheets off( I’ve never had any other rental say “sheets stay on”. Makes me wonder how often the sheets are washed
