We had an amazing trip. The owners have thought of everything; From Kayaks, grills, toys, games, corn hole, fishing poles… everything a family could need. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality! We will visit again soon!
This home was Amazing, great view of the water. everything you needed was there. Beds were comfortable. my grandkids had a ball catching crabs, fishing, kayaking, definitely would recommend.
We had the most wonderful time with our family here. We enjoyed fishing on the dock, having bonfires at night and making s’mores, arcade games in the game room and cooking on the grill. We made some special memories here in this very clean, well equipped home that is a hidden GEM. We loved it and appreciate the hosts so much!
Our family enjoyed this home. Because of the bad weather we were unable to enjoy all that they have available to enjoy the water. I got the most beautiful pictures of the sunset right from the back porch. The girls also enjoyed having a room for them to hang out. It was also so peaceful there.
This house is in the country outside of Elizabeth City and is so quiet and a real FIND. Beautiful inside and great view outside. Always a nice breeze under the large carport. Awesome streaming service on all four TVs. Comfortable beds and furniture. Kitchen was well equipped (Icemaker and Keurig coffee. We highly recommend Pirates Treasure.
The home was clean and very well equipped. Beds were cozy. The owners were available for lots of questions. The equipment available to use is awesome! The water is only waist deep past the dock which is perfect for kids learning to kayak and paddle board. We caught so many fish and crabs. The first two days we caught fish within 5 minutes of casting...all day. (Catfish, black drum, croaker, reds, and blue crab). Only 1 hour to virginia beach or to the the top of the Outer banks. Both places have tons of public access so this house is located nicely. Elizabeth City has walmart, tj Maxx, Ross, starbucks and lots of restraunts within 7 miles of the house. You'll have a blast!
The location and physical setup is well above average. Nice and secluded yet close to Elizabeth City and other sights closeby in Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, and the Outer Banks. The house is well equipped kitchen-wise and appeared really clean until we lost a phone and searching into/under things revealed some less-than stellar cleanliness (typical hotel room cleaning pattern). We broke out the vacuum and gave it a good under-the sofa, chairs, beds, etc. cleaning. While there were an appropriate number of beds/bedrooms, bedtables and bedside lighting was insufficient in two of them. Overall, we really enjoyed our week at Pirates Treasure as it is a real gem locale-wise. The property owner let us in early and replied to queries quickly and kept us aware of things during our stay like the lawn service that week. Being river-side was beautiful and we could image the fun and activities to be had when the temperatures come up. Lots of games, water equipment etc. available for use at the property. BTW if you are looking for wood for the firepit at the base of the wharf, it can be purchased at Lowe's in Elizabeth City. We had a number of great evening fires.
This property was actually very beautiful. It had everything we needed. The gate did break half way through the stay as the owners had already mentioned they had been having trouble. The work space was great for I. Although this is a no pet household, I have a service dog and in the vrbo rules it says I didn’t not need to list I had a pet. They then required me to send proof of the certificate; which is against the law to even ask me to show them service dog registration; but I did with no problem. They then said they were missing a remote but couldn’t tell me which exact remote was missing. All and all it was a great stay but I don’t think I’d be staying here again as the owners didn’t know the rules.
Great place to stay. Beautiful scenery and the property owners make the home very accommodating and cozy with lots of things to do. We will be looking yo stay at this property again in the future. Thank you
This house was perfect for our family vacation. We enjoyed everything the house had to offer-- swimming in the river daily, paddleboarding, kayaking, the swim platform, beach toys, roasting marshmallows, and all the games. The extra goodies were a hit with the kids (and adults alike!). We appreciated a fully stocked house and a great set up by the hosts. They have thought of everything. We will definitely be back! Thank you for hosting our family and helping us create some fabulous memories!
The place was extremely clean and comfortable. Owners had great communication - answering any questions I had and being in touch throughout. We went with our college kids for a last week of summer vacation before they headed back to school. We really enjoyed the kayaks and crabbing/fishing - caught quite a few crabs. Enjoyed the most gorgeous sunsets and watching the fish jumping out of the water. The welcome basket of snacks and goodies was so appreciated as well as all the little touches throughout the home. We had the most relaxing vacation getaway and grateful that we could make some great family memories here! Thank you Patricia & Russ.
What an enjoyable stay ! Close to relatives ! We had fun crabbing- fishing and most of all kayaking! Beautiful view and evening fires . I definitely will return if we are down that way again !!!
