"Getting up on the hill was definitely a new experience but the place , view and employees were amazing. Owner himself made sure we had everything we needed , accommodated when needed even suggested places we should visit. Loved the experience and view was breath taking "

Great stay

"We really enjoyed our stay and will stay here again when in Kingston. Traveled as a family of 4 and got a suite. It was a great size and they had a pull out sofa and brought a roll away bed. Service was great, everyone was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and had a good variety of food including traditional Jamaican food, American breakfast and assorted fruits, cheese, cereal etc. "

"I enjoyed my stay at the S Hotel. It is a very intimate hotel not like the major resorts where there is crowds of people. The food was excellent. I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, it was delicious. The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The property is very clean. I just wish there was a bit of entertainment. "

Felt like home

"Staying at Shirley’s Retreat truly felt like being welcomed into the family. The employees go above and beyond to make you feel at home, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The hotel offers all the basic necessities, ensuring a comfortable stay. One of the highlights was the food from Maurva's Kitchen—absolutely amazing! I highly recommend trying the local cuisine; you will not be disappointed. The hotel is in a safe, walkable area with plenty of restaurants nearby, and food delivery is also an option if you prefer to dine in. While there isn't a microwave in the room, there is one available downstairs, along with coffee, tea, and hot water. The hotel also sells water and cold drinks at very reasonable prices. Another great perk is the location—it's within walking distance of the Bob Marley Museum, and the hotel staff is happy to assist with getting a taxi if needed. The property itself is quiet, quaint, and surrounded by beautiful fruit trees, adding to its charm. If you're looking for a cozy, welcoming place to stay in Kingston, Shirley’s Retreat is a fantastic choice!"
