"The King's Little Pathway" spans the El Chorro gorge at a height of 100m. It was built in the early 1900s as an access path between nearby hydroelectric plants. The bridge got it's name in 1921 when King Alfonso XIII crossed it to help inaugurate a new dam.

The path rises to the bridge from either side of the gorge, snaking dramatically along the sheer cliff face. In recent years the path has been closed to all but rock-climbers, as many portions of the pathway had crumbled away.

However, the Spanish government recently completed a three-year restoration of the pathway, including guardrails, and it just opened yesterday - March 28, 2015! The 6€ entrance fee will be waived for the first six months, but you'll need to make reservations in advance: http://bit.ly/1BzhH8Y. Also, bear in mind that the path is one-way, so check the return bus schedule, or book a return crossing as well!

"This is a beautiful finca offering total peace and quiet with stunning views that stretch for miles across the valley... we loved it. The finca itself is really comfortably furnished and absolutely spotlessy clean. The kitchen is superb, and the lounge is a nice space to chill when the heat of the day is too much. The outside area is huge and the pool is large, warm, and clean (thanks Loli). The highlight has to sitting on the patio watching the sun disappear behind the mountains. What a place....

"To begin with arrival trouble locating the place due to random house numbers once inside it was lovely however it could have been better if the double oven was removed and replaced with a proper fridge freezer and a microwave possibly a air fryer current fridge way to small rest of the interior ok bit dated outside was absolutely wonderful perfect for relaxing and reading by the pool"

"The farmhouse is just lovely and in such a beautiful setting. There are a few bars within walking distance but advise hiring a car to get around as there are so many places to visit. The pool is lovely and shaded areas if you need them. The hosts were very good although they didn’t speak much English we managed to communicate thanks to google translate. Check in was easy and they were always there if we needed anything Would definitely recommend this property"

"The room was fantastic, and the location was perfect. Shuttles to Caminito del Rey are every 30 minutes and tickets can be purchased at the front desk, and the end of the Caminito del Rey hikes takes you right back to this hotel. "

"Absolutely Amazing Stay!We had an incredible time at this holiday villa. The view was absolutely outstanding, the heated pool was perfect for relaxing, and the hosts were truly marvelous—friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. The location was ideal, close to everything we needed yet peaceful and private. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect getaway. Can’t wait to return!"

We're coming back!

"Beautiful expansive property the grounds surrounding the main traditional "Spanish Villa-style hotel building are as fabulous and beautifully maintained as the building itself. We had drinks and tapas in the bar, and a delicious dinner in the restaurant that was open all day so as we were travel weary it was nice not to have to wait until 8/9-ish to eat dinner. Large choice of wines as well. Everything is clean and comfortable: Bedrooms & ensuite bathrooms are also traditional style ours looked out onto the walled lawns again lawn & shrubs trees well-kept and in the room everything works! Nice hot showers & baths meticulously clean! Plenty of parking - we had a rental car. we didn' get a chance to try the modern gym/pool facility though. We're coming back!"
