A decent house with several big problems
We reserved this house for 3 nights as part of a high school friends reunion. On the day of check-in, I hadn't received any communication about checking in. I messaged the host, who responded by noon and gave instructions. With check-in time at 2pm, that's cutting it a little close, especially when some people were traveling from the east coast.
When we arrived, the property was clean and exactly what we wanted: a large house with plenty of bedrooms and a big communal space.
The location isn't great. It's right next to a freeway and "Ghetto-adjacent". It does have a Starbucks and Walmart right down the street which redeems it somewhat.
Soon into our stay, we noticed a couple of major issues. The first that was the main bathroom's shower leaked from underneath out onto the rest of the bathroom floor. The second was that the front door electronic code lock was installed incorrectly. The code was needed to lock the door but simply pushing the top button, which illuminates the keypad, was enough to unlock it. We ended up barricading the door with the couches at night and took a chance when we left for the day.
On the last day of our visit, the plumbing issue exploded. Both bathrooms flooded, both showers had several inches of standing water, and the toilets were all backed up and unusable. We had to drive to Starbucks to use their bathroom. We messaged the host about it and checked out a couple hours later.
Would have been a 4 star review if not for the big issues.
