Dreamy Retreat
This is my DREAM HOUSE nestled in a wooded area just a quick half hour from downtown Edmonton. We were close enough to get everything we needed but still enjoy the peace and seclusion of a ‘vacation hideaway.’ The house was beautiful, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the host was friendly and accommodating for all our special requests/needs. Super comfortable beds, luxurious bathroom/shower, hot tub, fire pit, just an overall dreamy stay. Would 10/10 recommend this house and this host to anyone looking to stay in the area. Wish I could live there year-round!

Great outdoor space, hot tub was nice, great attention to detail. We really enjoyed our long weekend. The area is private and peaceful but still close enough to things. Would definitely go back again.

We had an amazing stay in this beautiful cabin! It was very clean, gorgeously decorated, and well stocked. The owners were really nice and responded to our questions in a timely manner. We’ll definitely be renting this beautiful cabin again in the future!

Relaxing Weekend Away
This is a beautiful property and it was the perfect place to get together with friends for the weekend. The beds were comfy, the kitchen is stocked with all the supplies you need, the hot tub was great at night to unwind before bed. The main floor bathroom shower was also something to rave about. This is a relaxation oasis. We will be back to enjoy another relaxing weekend away soon!

It was so hard to leave! This place was truly as beautiful as the photos. The hosts thought of all the little details fromq-tips, in the bathrooms, to labels on the light switches and motion-activated nightlight in the bedroom. And the decor was just gorgeous!!!

We were having a girls weekend. There were 4 adults hanging out and playing games. This is a beautiful home. Only 20 minutes from Sherwood Park to get groceries or go to dinner. Really enjoyed our time here

Fantastic property
We stayed at this property for five days in July. The property is just amazing and quite a retreat. Well stocked, fantastic communication, great amenities, very comfortable, and great location being near to Elk Island national park, Ukrainian cultural centre, and Vegreville. One bedroom and full bath is on the main floor which is great for mobility accessibility (though not wheelchairs).

What a beautiful property! So quiet, peaceful and the cabin was well equipped with everything you could ever need! Hot tub was an absolute wonderful addition, as well as fire pit area which had everything we needed to enjoy it. Was honestly sad to leave, we really enjoyed our time away from the city. Will definitely be back again in the future!

This is a beautiful home, the kitchen was amazing. Super comfortable beds. The master bath was special. Lots of green space for outdoor play. And the deck! And, so many trees that you feel very isolated. We had 3 kids under 5 and it was perfect for them. Would definitely rate this one as a 10.

Seriously Perfect
Ok...so i almost didnt want to keave this review because this is such a hidden gem, we have to go back! We had three families stay at this gorgeous house and it didnt feel cramped at all. Immaculate condition, beautifully decorated and anazing for all ages. From 2yrs old to us old folks, we all had an awesome time. Thank you to our wonderful hosts! Hope to stay again someday soon :)

Girls Weekend
BEST VRBO I’ve ever stayed in! High-end extra-large chalet style home, set in a private tree lined property all only 26 minutes from south Edmonton. The home is warm and inviting, fully stocked, super comfortable beds, and pristinely clean. Hot Tub was awesome! Hosts are exceptional - very easy to work with and very friendly. Would definitely come back in the summer to take advantage of the two decks, two firepits and hiking trails. Highly recommend this property for your next get away.

Magnificent house
What an amazing house this is! With all the tools that you would need. A well equiped kitchen, perfect beds, great showers, and lots and lots of space. The communication with the owner went smooth. These was a minor issue that some dishes in the cabinet were used, and the owner took action promptly. I would recommend staying here for a longer period of time to fully enjoy the house.

Nice Getaway, but We Had Some Issues
We were very excited to get away from the hustle & bustle of the city and our demanding jobs. Overall, it’s a beautiful cabin, with many lovely upgrades, but we were disappointed in a few things. Before the trip even started, we had to ask three times for the instructions on how to enter the property (passcode for the door). The first request was a couple days before our arrival, as the instructions say, and twice on the day of our arrival. A little nerve wracking when we our 10 minutes away from the cabin, it’s an hour or so past the checkin time of 3:30pm, and at approx 4:30pm we had finally got the instructions. On day 2, had an ant infestation that took up 1 of my 3 vacation days killing and sweeping them, which didn’t prove to be relaxing at all. The owners were excellent to respond and get ant traps & spray for us, but it took a lot of time for the ants to die and go away. The cabin has rules posted just about everywhere you turn, and the owners also send the same rules with the passcode for door. This is not relaxing… to open a beside table drawer, and to see the rules posted in there too! Like you state in the rules, if something is damaged or missing, it’ll be taken out on the primary’s credit card, which is completely understandable in rental situations. We found the outdoor furniture was in rough shape, and not clean. Overall we didn’t see the value for the price we paid.

The pictures don’t do it justice. This place was amazing! Comfortable and clean. Spacious and luxurious. Tranquil and serene The host was really nice and prompt at replying to any questions we had. Even accommodating to any requests we had. Our group are already planning our next visit there asap

Beautiful, relaxing cabin with a wonderful view of the lights
We stayed at the cabin for 2 days and wished we could stay longer! It was absolutely perfect and had everything we needed for a perfect, relaxing end to our week in Alberta. We also had a lovely view of the Northern Lights!! I could even see them from the well positioned beds. I would stay here again in a second, only I'll stay longer next time

A Writing Retreat Haven
Our stay at the Barrel House was unbelievable! Such a gorgeous rural setting in the boreal forest. The historical home is lovely and unique. The interior decorating is tasteful and thoughtful in every way. Absolutely loved our stay and definitely coming back!
