I highly recommend this property especially for extended stays in Edinburgh. Great location close to all the sites, the tram line, Haymarket and Waverley Stations but a little bit off the main road if you want some quiet. Great neighborhood with lots dining choices. Staff is very friendly and willing to help. I will return

Staycity Apartments, Edinburgh was in an excellent location - within walking distance of the old town, two convenient supermarkets nearby, & close to a bus stop. Apartment was well appointed, clean, warm, and had a lovely home feel about it. Would highly recommend and stay there again.

Our stay was truly wonderful. The staff were all quite friendly and helpful and the included amenities made us feel as if we were at home. Our unit had everything we could have wanted, from included wifi to luxurious bed linens, a clothes washer/dryer, a fully-stocked kitchen with dishwasher (even including dishwasher tablets and washing-up liquid), large soaking bathtub with a rainfall shower head plus a handheld nozzle, and blackout curtains that were very welcome for the long days of June in Scotland. They even had umbrella rentals in the main lobby. It was our first time in Scotland and the staff offered plenty of assistance and advice. We were in town for just a handful of days for the Eras Tour but, thanks to our central location, we were able to see just about all of the sites we wanted to. We were a short walk to the Haymarket tram stop, multiple grocery stores, restaurants, cafes, and shops. A leisurely 20-minute walk east brought us to Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, and the same distance in the opposite direction brought us to Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium. I have already started planning our next trip to Edinburgh and we will definitely be staying here again. I honestly cannot recommend Staycity Aparthotels in the West End enough.

Construction, cigarette smoke, and a broken shower
I'll start with the positive. The employees at this hotel were very kind and tried their best to solve the issues we had. And the issues were plenty. When we arrived, we got off the elevator on our floor to find a construction zone. Unassembled furniture, cans of paint, and plastic tarps on the floor everywhere. It is bad business to rent out the one room on a floor that is almost completely under construction. Not only that, but there we workers hanging around in the hall doing work early in the morning and throughout the day and they were SMOKING CIGARETTES in the hall. The smoke got into our room. We were given the excuse that they were "external contractors" and not employees of the hotel so nothing could be done. Give me a break. The next issue was the shower. The only temperature that would come out of the showerhead was scalding hot. The temperature knob didn't change it at all. After multiple attempts at fixing it, one employee was able to turn down the boiler to lower the highest temperature for all the rooms. Three days in a hotel and none of us were able to shower is unacceptable. Maybe it was good that we couldn't shower because it was an accessible room and water went everywhere if you tried to turn the shower on. A slippery safety hazard. If you do have a reservation make sure you are not given a room in a construction zone!

This property is not suitable for families! The queen bed they provided is double bed attached and they keep split. The bathroom has molds and they do not have basic amenities like cleaning liquid , washing detergent.

The location was great: an easy bus ride to attractions that were further away and only a 15 minute walk to Prince's Street Gardens. Tesco and coffee shops just around the corner. Staff were very helpful too.

It was close to most amenities and attractions in the city centre. Staff was wonderful and friendly. Needs sharp kitchen knives; we had 2 twin beds pushed together and they kept sliding apart during… Shower had a little mildew in the corners. The fan was a welcome addition on warm days. Overall a very nice place to stay.
