Lovely private apartment, very quiet so I got a great couple of nights' sleep. The bath hadn't been cleaned particularly well but, once I'd sorted that, there was loads of hot water.

Pro: Excellent location, within fifteen minute from AirLink 100 if you are flying (make sure you walk against the Hill don’t climb up). Place is very clean and spacious, with well equipped utensils even baking paper (making it very easy if you want to buy some ready to cook food from M&S. Reception desk is nice, they even printed couple pages for me free of charge (thank you again for helping out). Con: They charge GBP10/each hour for extended check out, even after you request in advance for just one hour from 1030am...

Great Base for Exploring Edinburgh
Ideal location for exploring central Edinburgh, apartment, two-bedroom is very spacious, well maintained. Located directly opposite the National Portrait Gallery, two minute walk from the St Andrews Square tram stop and Harvey Nichols! Five minute walk from the Playhouse, George Street and, when it opens next year, the new St James Shopping Mall.

A good port in the storm...
Charming, spacious, and very clean. Our last minute booking was the result of a last minute cancellation of our flight to board our cruise in Southampton and our need to board the ship in Edinburgh. This property was a welcome respite from the events of the previous two days. The service from the reception desk was especially good, most helpful on navigating Edinburgh. We are happy to recommend a longer stay here.

Excellent location! The staff at checkin was fantastic and very friendly. Our apartment was amazing, with fantastic views! Very large and spacious with a nice cozy balcony. We encountered trouble with the boiler in our apartment, and didn’t have hot water for 2 out of the 6 nights we were there, however the management refunded some money for the inconvenience which was well received. They only clean the apartment every four days which was a bit less for my liking; I would have liked the room cleaned every other day. No amenities as such - and I would recommend the hotel get a concierge to help guests navigate the sights and sounds of Scotland.

Ancient apartment needs updating
Where do I start? The floors creaked loudly with every step. The bathroom fan was so pathetic that if you leave the door open after a shower it sets the fire alarm off. This happened to us twice. When you shower in the morning the mirror gets steamed up for the entire day. No laundry facilities, and it was improperly stocked for any type of cooking. The kitchen floor was sticky and disgusting. All they had were butter knives. How am I supposed to chop anything with that? Towels were only scheduled to be changed every 4 days. Disgusting. Finally, the bed was not comfortable and they had no way to watch anything except basic cable on the tv. No DVD player, no Netflix.

Great family option
Great for exploring the core of Edinburgh. Close to public transportation or you could really walk to most of te major places with a little bit of a walk. Shops and eating places are very close and a grocery store. The place itself was very spacious and quiet. It felt like a home. Plenty of room for a family.

Unacceptable apartment
Booked two bedroom for four adults. It has one washroom only. The floors were squeaking. The washroom sink has two taps and can’t mix hot and cold water. Did not get our room till five o’clock. Ask them to extend one hour from 10.30AM to 11.30AM refuse to do it until we pay ten pounds. Receptionist were not friendly at all. Will not recommend to anyone and will never stay. The apartment needs full renovation.

High Quality all the way!
Fountain Court is a beautiful place to stay! Very nicely finished with all the needs met. Condition of the apt is top notch. Lots of space in our apt which was on the fifth floor with a spectacular view all the way out to the Firth of Forth. Excellent location. Quiet. Clean. We would absolutely stay there again.
