Nice and clean room and good location. A lot of noise that you can hear all the movement from the room above, when they walk, take a shower etc... Overall not good for a long stay

Perfect position for bus station and tram stops literally down the road. No lifts so lots of stairs. Bed,room and bathroom clean. Clean towels and supplies of mini soaps,shower gels and shampoos etc. Continental breakfast good.

I have nothing good to say other than good location The room has not been cleaned, beds were made but smelt like they had been slept in. Bathroom was not cleaned, the shower had clearly just been used with splash marks on the inside and bathroom bin was full from the people the previous night

Family Christmas hols
Perfect location on York Place for tram to and from airport. Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable and continental breakfast was great start to our day.

Nice Hotel, Great Location
I was slightly concerned about staying at the Ballantrae Hotel, from reading some of the reviews. However, I didn’t need to worry as it really was ok. The location was great, just a short walk to the shops and Christmas Market, and the tram stopped just down the road. All the receptionists were friendly and welcoming. The room was a decent size, nicely decorated and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern. The continental breakfast was as expected, and set us up for a day of walking. So all in all, I was very happy with the Ballantrae Hotel.

great location, nice people.
minor problems dealt with really quickly, - we were immediately offered another room in case the stairs would be a problem- (booked into the top room, which in Edinburgh can mean needing a sherpa) nice people, spacious rooms, recently fitted bathrooms.....great central location. didn't take breakfast option so can't comment.. hipster coffee across the road too tempting..

It was very dirty. My heating did not work, so asked staff for help. They did not want to know. Ended up sleeping in cloths. Shower was filthy so did not want to use. I was told this was one of the best rooms if so one dread to think what the other rooms would be like

Hotellin aamiainen hintaansa nähden huono (maksettiin erikseen), kannattaa ennemmin syödä muualla aamiainen. Muutoin sitä, mitä sillä rahalla oletti saavansa. Huippu sijainti, auki 24h, sai tulla ja mennä oman aikataulun mukaan.

Nice happy welcome from the check in desk but that was the end of the pleasantries. Although it does say that there is not a lift I didn't expect a climb of 71 steps to our room. Our room was in the attic and I had to bend over a lot due to the ceiling, especially when opening and closing thr window/curtains. I looked under the bed and found an old perfume bottle and an old McDonalds chip box. There was a pair of socks left in one of the drawers from a previous guest so quite clearly no one was cleaning properly. My partner found an old bra in the bathroom and the toilet was continuessly flowing making difficult to flush as the cistern couldn't fill up properly. The shower head was loose and kept sliding down the wall rail. The room was tidied up between days but only a quick once over. Nice people working there but not a nice place to stay. Good location but it doesn't make up from the condition of the hotel. We won't be going back again!

광활한 실내 공간, 따뜻한 화장실
호텔 이름이 크게 써 있지 않아 리셉션을 찾기가 조금 힘들었고, 리셉션에서 체크인을 한 뒤 옆옆 입구로 들어가야 하는데, 마찬가지로 간판이 잘 눈에 띄지 않아 불편했습니다. 대신 방에 들어간 뒤로는 너무나 황홀했습니다. 뛰어다녀도 될 만큼 넓고, 창문이 크고, 화장실이 따뜻하며 모든 시설이 훌륭합니다. 여행에서 묵었던 숙소 중 가장 넓은 곳이었습니다. 참, 체크인 전 짐 보관도 가능합니다.

The first thing you'll notice is there is NO LIFT. Really. And no one offered to help with the luggage. Second thing I didn't like was the after person needs to buy an iron. His shirt looked like he just crawled out of bed. On the last night the shirt looked even worse. Third Thing is NO IRON OR IRONING BOARD in room. It took 2 days to get one of each
