Nice place...but very noisy - our room's windows opened to the parking lot for the golf carts (Queen Mary) and there was a lot of traffic and noise from the maintenance crew and golfers...it was so hot in the room, we had to have the windows open and still we were melting. Having fans in the room so that you didn't have to open up the windows would have made it much more comfortable. The staff and the food at dinner was very pleasing.
The hotel is just charming. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel arranged our taxi journey to and from dinner. Very helpful. A wonderful pre Christmas night away
Lovely hotel, in beautiful grounds, friendly helpful staff. Dinner menu a bit boring and expensive for what it was. Restaurant staff all young and tried very hard to give a good service.
Check in and out speedy and efficient.
We were invited to a wedding at Hever Castle so wanted to stay as close as possible to it. The Hever hotel is set in such a gorgeous setting. Takes you straight back to Tudor times. You can imagine horse drawn carriages and animals all around the so called farm setting. Despite this, you have a comfortable and pleasant room where the bed is comfy and all he necessities are provided. Staff are kind and friendly and willing to help. My partner and I had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend a visit.
Hard to find by useing the sat nav hotel great reception let’s the hotel down would of been good to have the write up about the hotel and facilities in the room to read.
Very nice place
This hotel is in a beautiful location and easily accessible to visit so many places. The staff were helpful throughout and made the stay enjoyable. The hotel is a bit quirky with many of the rooms off the courtyard which means direct access from outside into the hotel room which on colder nights is more of an issue but summer months might be welcomed. The rooms we not quite what they seem from the brochure. We had an an executive room as a treat as after some medical issues would value a space to relax in. The brochure indicates a sofa but there is only 1 "comfortable" chair in the room which is not good with 2 of you in there. We asked for another but they were unable to help which was disappointing as the hotel was not full so I'm sure it could have been found. I would urge the hotel owners to match the rooms with the brochure pictures to avoid further disappointment. The rooms are all hardwood floor and could do with something lug a rug on them to make them more welcoming as they seem a little stark. Otherwise the hotel is good and we enjoyed our stay. Everything clean and staff helpful.
I stayed for one night prior to an interview. The reception is strangely positioned in a side room. Check in was meant to be available after 14:00, upon arrival at 14:30 I was told I couldn't have the room until after 15:00 as it wasn't cleaned yet. No apology, at this point I double checked with the receptionist if breakfast was included in what I had paid as I had to also leave a £50 holding deposit on my card.
Not too much of a big deal but considering I had travelled from Belfast I was a bit peeved. The room was clean and had everything you would need. There is a golf course and basketball/ tennis court. I went out for dinner to a nearby pub. The following morning I popped down for breakfast, gave my room number and had a bowl of cereal and a banana.
Upon checking out I was informed I owed £12 for breakfast. I stated I had already paid for that. The receptionist was uncaring at best and said 'no you've paid £76, I had to go to my car and get the receipt to prove I had paid £90, she then said yeah... but that still doesn't include breakfast so.... I informed her I had already checked last night. She said I don't know why she would have said that, maybe you misunderstood. This appeared to me as if she was calling me a liar. I then had to argue quite stubbornly that I would not have had breakfast had I not been told It was included, I have no intention of paying £24 for a bowl of special K.
She just stared at me before finally relenting. The staff spoil the setting!
Comfortable executive double, with robes. Quiet courtyard arrangement, close to restaurant and bar. Disappointing dinner menu - basic and with dull accompaniments, which was repeated for the two nights I stayed. Breakfast had a vast array of choice, hot and cold, but hot items were not refilled when 'low'. Shame - hotel and staff good - food does not match the quality of the rest and therefore becomes quite expensive.
Lovely location and friendly staff. Comfortable bed and great shower. The Wifi is a little frustrating as it seems to turn itself off randomly requiring you to log back in even when you take time to make a cup of tea! The hotel is nice and it must be remembered the rooms are in old buildings so don't expect ultra modern and whilst I would therefore not aim any criticism at this part of the hotel I think the gym could do with an update and check all machines are on and working.
Left this hotel 4 days early as my partner found it more comfortable to sleep on the floor! Duty manager didn't care in the slightest that we left early. Cleanliness wasn't up to scratch - there were dirty marks up the walls and floor wasn't hoovered properly. Food was good in the restaurant, but took an hour to get a first course. Generally young inexperienced staff.
Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable pleasant room and lovely surrounding grounds and views. Only one small complaint. I thought the bar prices were a little on the steep side.
A good location for business stop over near Tunbridge
Very pleasant staff at check-in / check out. Clean room with good wi-fi and all the amenities you require. Didn't t dine in the Hotel as the restaurant menu looked limited and expensive for what was on offer. However here are one or two very good local pubs nearby in Hever that offer great value pub-grub. Would stay again.
