"This was probably the weirdest hotel experience in my life. The huge manor has been converted to a hotel but has been neglected recently (including a time housing asylum seekers - Google it). The time around 10 of the 100+ rooms are being used so you “rattle around” especially when you’re the only guests!! "We had an amazing stay. It had everything we needed for a night. There were board games and plenty of books to keep you entertained. The bathroom was very tidy and clean. The bed was super comfortable. The details of the property added extra comfort too. We were visiting Stamford so it was an easy 15min drive through countryside. "This hotel overlooks Rutland Reservoir and had some amazing views. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We had afternoon tea in the Blossoms which was tasty and filling. And the breakfast was amazing, literally everything you could want. The only problem we had was, we booked a "cozy" double, their cheapest room, which was in the eaves and had slanted ceilings and unfortunately the placement of the shower meant neither me (5 foot 10) or my hubby (6 foot 2)...
