What an amazing and beautiful property! It was peaceful, serene, and just a perfect spot to relax! Peter was a wonderful host!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cabin in East Boothbay! The house was well equipped for our week away (kitchen essentials, cozy furniture, lots of spots to sit and view the river from) and treated us so well. Would recommend!
This was our third year at this special, unique property. Had another wonderful experience! Terrific owner, terrific location, stunning views. Highly recommend.
We had a great week staying in this cabin. Property was clean and had everything you needed for the week. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were nice. The area is quiet, no issues sleeping with the windows open.
Thank you Peter for sharing your cabin with us.
Extraordinarily beautiful and unique waterfront cabin!
Peter’s cabin on Meadow Cove is absolutely charming, cozy and comfortable! The location on the water is stunning with lovely sunrise/sunset colors and fantastic birdwatching! We found it very relaxing and rejuvenating. The cabin has all the necessities and more - comfy beds with wonderful linens, well stocked kitchen and a beautiful patio. Highly recommend!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed the rustic, but very charming log cabin that Peter has created! Everything he has done is tasteful and supports comfort and respite from the hectic lives we live in a city.
Peter is very considerate and enjoyable! We will definitely be back!
Amazing stay at a beautiful log cabin at water’s edge in East Boothbay.
We loved sitting at water’s edge with our coffee in the morning or reading a book in the afternoon. The cabin had everything we needed - the fireplace was wonderful. Peter was a caring host. What more could one ask for. It was a wonderful experience. We will come back.
We’ve stayed at the cabin five times. I can’t think of anything that would make the experience better — other than more time there. We spend most of our vacation on the patio or the deck, reading and looking our at the Damariscotta River. Most relaxing time of the year. And Peter is a wonderful host
The owner was cordial, cooperative, and never intruded. The interior of this authentic log cabin had charm and character. It was ideally situated on the property to have commanding views of the river. We observed a variety of waterfowl and even a few harbor seals. Overall, it was a very private, quiet and peaceful way to vacation.
This was one of our favorite stays in Maine. The property was in a very quiet location yet a short drive to Boothbay center. It was a beautiful, well decorated cabin. It was fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The view was incredible. We saw may seals that were fun to watch from the patio. It was a perfect place to kayak. We loved that we could walk a short distance (less than 1mile) to the General store. Peter was a great host.
The cabin was wonderful. It was a little chilly the first night. But Peter was great and brought a couple of heaters over. The cabin has a wood burning fireplace. Peter supplied a lot of wood for it. Which we did use it all. Sorry Peter. Great location for visiting the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and Boothbay. And we got to see the Northern Lights with the naked eye! The highlight of the trip! Would definitely stay again!
And we're looking forward to our eighth. Everything about this log cabin on the river is right. Peter is a gracious host. The guy you'd want for a neighbor back home. The property is immaculate. The view from porch and patio is blissful. The neighborhood is quiet, but groceries, dining and sightseeing are nearby. Mostly, though, we just love to sit with the river in view, read and talk.
My stay at this oceanfront cabin in Maine was absolutely fantastic! The cabin itself is beautiful and cozy, with all the amenities you could need for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. The location is unbeatable, right on the ocean and only 15 minutes from the charming downtown of Boothbay.
We loved waking up to the stunning ocean views every morning and spending our days exploring the nearby attractions. The cabin was immaculately clean and well-maintained, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.
This was one of the best vacations we've ever had, and we can’t wait to return. If you're looking for a peaceful and picturesque retreat, this cabin is the perfect choice. Highly recommend!
When searching for a place to call home during our Maine vacation, I wanted to find a place that would appeal to my husband as much as it did to me. I knew I’d picked the right spot when my husband, not a man to waste words, commented several times that he loved our little cabin! If you’re looking for that camp feel, but want it comfortable rather than spartan, this is the place! The kitchen was well equipped, the furniture in the living room comfortable,
This was our second visit to this charming log cabin on the water. We bought our kayaks and really appreciated the kayak dock (tip: it's very easy to take your boats down the tide ramp to the floating dock at high tide). Enjoyed wood fires in the big stone hearth to cut the chill in the morning and evening - and had several pleasant conversations with Peter, the host. Something new: we made a nice lunch with company on the new (since our last visit) stone patio with gas grill and stout teak furniture. A good week !
We’ve just completed our fifth summer stay at the cabin and signed up for a sixth. How’s that for satisfied customers? It’s an ideal location for folks who like a quiet getaway without feeling cutoff. The log cabin is beautiful and so is the view. Our gracious landlord can’t be beat.
This was our second stay here and it was terrific. Loved the new patio area and uber-comfortable adirondack rockers. Also made use of the new fridge and oven. This is a special place and we look forward to next year’s visit!
The accommodations were exceptional. A totally restored and nicely furnished log cabin (old west cowboy and seafaring memorabilia adorned the living space)that made the stay uniquely chic. We BBQ'd and dined on the beautiful slate patio off a spacious porch while enjoying the serenity of a cove full of seabirds and marine life. A wonderful place to unwind and relax! Our host ,Peter , was most accommodating and
shared many anecdotes about the area.
Classic Maine Cabin with a Breathtaking Water View
Peter is a gracious and welcoming host and his care for this beautiful property is absolutely evident. Communication was easy and straight-forward. This cabin is absolutely one of a kind with a history that is fascinating. This is the authentic Maine cabin experience with unbeatable water views- warm, cozy and well appointed. And the outdoor shower is just a dream! The beds were very comfortable with high quality linens. The kitchen was well stocked and included modern amenities. We especially enjoyed the patio, grill and comfortable outdoor furniture and spent nights star gazing. The location itself couldn't be better- plenty of excellent shopping, dining, beaches & trailheads. We enjoyed all of the character and history of the property and look forward to reserving it again in the future.
As always Peter was a very gracious host. Friendly and there if you need him but never intrusive. The view from the new patio is spectacular and creates an atmosphere of total relaxation. The property is very quiet on a dead-end road but it’s less than 10 minutes to the downtown area and anything you want or need.
We loved our stay at Meadow Cove. We were looking for a quiet, off the beaten path place to rest and restore. The log cabin, especially the porch and patio area were ideal for that. We loved getting up early to watch the sunrise most mornings and got used to a front row seat from our Adirondack chairs. We also appreciated the authentic style of the cabin with plenty of modern amenities. Everything was cozy and just enough. Additionally, the water access off the dock for our family of kayakers was super. We spent time exploring Meadow Cove, Fort Island, and the harbor at Lobsterman's Wharf. Peter, our host, was genuine, helpful and kind. Our peaceful Meadow Cove memories will last a lifetime.
We stayed at this property last summer and loved it so much we came back with our daughter. We spent many hours on the patio enjoying the spectacular view of the river.
